Player Spotlight: 2026 RHP/OF Dominic Marino (Hazelton Area HS)

Nathan Goranson
NJ/PA Scout-Contributor

The Pittsburgh commit is the number 9 overall and number 5 right handed pitcher in the Keystone state. The right hander has an athletic frame of 6 '0 and 190 pounds. On the mound, Marino produces high spin on every pitch. Hard, late break on the curveball and slider. The fastball has vertical carry through the zone. Works with a very repeatable and smooth delivery. Late arm acceleration down the mound helps Marino have a deceptive jump on his fastball to the plate.

At the plate, Marino demonstrates the intent to do damage. Swings the bat to hit the ball hard and far. His rotational acceleration on the mound translates very well to his offensive approach. Produces a bat speed of 87.3 mph and an exit velocity of 106.5 mph. Overall, Marino has a very high upside to continue to develop and grow going into the next level of baseball.
