TX HS Uncommitted Scout Blog: Week 11

Texas Scout Blog: Standouts from Across the State
High school baseball in Texas is special. The combination of talent, competition, and passion for the game is unmatched anywhere else in the country. From the packed stands on Friday nights to the year-round grind that players put in to get better, baseball isn’t just a sport here—it’s part of the culture.
At Prep Baseball Texas, we’re out at the ballparks watching the best the state has to offer, and each week in the Texas Scout Blog, we’ll highlight the players who stood out. Whether it’s a top-ranked commit showing why he’s one of the best in the country, an uncommitted prospect making a name for himself, or an under-the-radar player who demands attention, we’ll shine a light on those making an impact.
This isn’t about box scores—it’s about recognizing the guys who are stepping up when the lights are on. Texas high school baseball is as good as it gets, and we’re here to make sure the players proving it get the attention they deserve.
Check back each week to see who caught our eye across the Lone Star State.
WEEK 11
Position: SS
School: Byron Nelson (2027)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Physical: Good body/frame to add strength
Strengths: Actions with body control present. Avg arm, shows ability to make throws from all angles. Bat speed, solid contact off barrel with middle of the field approach. Avg runner at least, could be better.
Obstacles/concerns: What is the 60 time? Raw power?
Summation: Good player. Makes plays at SS, shows body control, ability to make plays on the move. Stays at SS in future. Avg arm now, plus future. Solid approach to hit with line drive contact. Allegedly pitches as well, up to 93 in the past…I have not seen it.
Prospect for 2027.
