MISSISSIPPI - The Elite 8 round of the MHSAA Class 7A-1A state baseball playoffs delivered no shortage of standout performances as teams across the state began their championship quests. From dominant pitching to explosive offensive outbursts, players stepped up in big moments to lead their teams to crucial playoff victories that punched tickets to the Elite 8. Here’s a look at some of the top individual performers who made a major impact and helped set the tone for what’s shaping up to be another exciting week of postseason play in Mississippi.

CLASS 7A TOP PERFORMERS
- Jackson Clark (Brandon) - The East Central CC recruit threw 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, with 7 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over Ocean Springs.
- Tre Adcox (Brandon) - Went 3 for 5 with home run, double and 3 runs batted in in the series win over Ocean Springs.
- Grady Smith (Brandon) - Went 3 for 7 with a home run, double, and 7 runs batted in for the Bulldogs in their sweep of Ocean Springs.
- Jay McQueen (Brandon) - The South Alabama signee picked up 5 hits ion 7 at bats including a double, triple, and 2 RBI’s in the series sweep of the Greyhounds.
- Tre McQueen (Brandon) - Went 4 for 6 with a double and 3 RBI’s in the Bulldogs series win over Ocean Springs.
- Graydon Walker (Brandon) - Added 4 hits in 6 at bats including a double in their series victory.
- Keith Forbes (Brandon) - The Meridian CC recruit drove in 5 runs for the Bulldogs in their series win.
- Tanner Brannigan (Tupelo) - Threw 6 innings, allowing 6 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, with 4 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over Clinton.
- Brody Wilson (Tupelo) - Scattered 8 hits over 6 innings, while allowing just 1 run in a Game 2 win over Clinton.
- Hayes Hooker (Tupelo) - Went 3 for 7 with a home run, double, and 3 RBI’s in a series win over Clinton.
- Parker Thames (Clinton) - Picked up 4 hits, including 2 doubles in the Arrows series loss to Tupelo.
- Maddox Miller (Oak Grove) - Threw 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 earned run, with 10 strikeouts in a win over Petal.
- Stratton Farmer (Oak Grove) - Earned a win and a save in Oak Groves series win over Petal.

- Trace Hood (Warren Central) - Went 3 for 7 with a home run and 3 RBI’s in the Vikings sweep over Grenada.
- Landyn Wilson (Pearl River Central) - Went 4 for 6 with a double and 7 RBI’s in the Blue Devils sweep of Hattiesburg.
- Parker Harper (Pearl River Central) - Picked up 4 hits in 8 at bats including a double and 3 RBI’s in a series win over Hattiesburg.
- Preston McAdory (George County) - The former Future Gamer threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, with 10 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over West Jones.
- Canyan Reeves (George County) - Threw 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 0 earned runs, with 8 strikeouts in the Rebels series clinching Game 3 win over West Jones.
- Cayler Havard (George County) - Added 5 RBI’s, including a game 1 homer in the Rebels series win over West Jones.
- Grant Reeves (George County) - Picked up a home run and a triple, while driving in 4 runs in a series win over West Jones.
- Clay Tolbert (West Jones) - Tossed 6 ⅔ innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 run, with 12 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over George County.
CLASS 5A TOP PERFORMERS
- Tanner Harris (Lafayette) - Tossed 5 ⅔ innings, scattering 4 hits, allowing 0 runs, with 3 strikeouts in the Commodores Game 2 win over New Hope.
- Caleb Guest (Lafayette) - Went 4 for 8 with 3 RBI’s out of the lead off spot in a series sweep of New Hope.
- Cole Sanders (Corinth) - Tossed 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, with 7 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over Pontotoc.
- Grady Mitchell (Corinth) - Picked up a homer, 2 doubles, and 6 runs batted in in a series win over Pontotoc.
- Jacob-Isaac Pierce (Corinth) - Delivered a home run, 2 doubles, and 5 RBI’s in a series win over Pontotoc.
- Miller Finn (Pontotoc) - Threw 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run, with 8 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over Corinth. Also had 5 hits in the series including 2 doubles.
- Dylan Causey (South Jones) - The USM signee threw 13 innings in a series win over Vancleave, allowing 7 hits, 1 earned run, with 18 strikeouts. Earned the decisive Game 3 win. Added a 3 for 5 Game 2 at the plate with a homer, double, and 4 RBI’s.
- Cayden Kinmon (South Jones) - Went 3 for 3 with a homer, 2 doubles, and 4 RBI’s in a Game 2 win over Vancleave.
- Micah Coutta (South Jones) - Tossed 6 ⅓ innings, allowing 3 hits, 0 earned runs, with 13 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over Vancleave.
- Hunter Harper (Vancleave) - Threw a 7 inning shutout, allowing just 1 hit with 7 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over South Jones.

- Leo Odom (Sumrall) - Tossed 6 ⅓ innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with 11 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over Northeast Jones.

- Kage McHann (East Webster) - Threw a 7 inning shutout, allowing 5 hits with 6 strikeouts in the Wolverines Game 1 win over Choctaw County.
- Jordan Gaskin (East Webster) - Threw 7 innings, allowing just 3 hits, 0 runs, with 6 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over Choctaw County.
- Stetson Perkins (East Webster) - Went 3 for 6 with 2 doubles in the Wolverines series sweep of Choctaw County.

- Landon Harmon (East Union) - The Mississippi State signee threw 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 earned runs, with 14 strikeouts in a Game 2 loss to Eupora. Also went 4 for 9 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 3 RBI’s in the series win.
- Ben Basil (East Union) - Threw 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, with 6 strikeouts in the Urchins Game 3 win over Eupora.
- JD Whitaker (Hamilton) - The Pearl River CC recruit threw 6 ⅓ innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, with 5 strikeouts in the Lions Game 1 win over New Site.
- Braedyn Lackie (Hamilton) - Threw 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, with 3 strikeouts in the Lions Game 2 win over New Site.
- Justin Verner (Hamilton) - Went 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s in the Lions series sweep of New Site.
- Landon Stanley (New Site) - Went 4 for 6 with 4 doubles and 2 RBI’s in a series loss to Hamilton.

- Paxton Prisock (Pisgah) - Drove in 4 runs on 2 doubles in the Dragons series win over North Forrest.
CLASS 1A TOP PERFORMERS
- Jon Grey Morrison (West Union) - The former Future Gamer threw 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits, 0 runs, with 6 strikeouts in the Eagles Game 1 win over Tupelo Christian.
- Grant Martin (West Union) - Threw 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, with 5 strikeouts in a Game 2 win over Tupelo Christian.
- Thomas Goralczyk (Tupelo Christian) - Threw 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, with 7 strikeouts in a Game 1 loss to West Union.
- Ford Matthews (Taylorsville) - Threw 7 innings, allowing just 1 hit, 0 runs, with 9 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over Resurrection Catholic. He also went 3 for 4 with a homer, 2 doubles, and 4 RBI’s in a Game 2 win.
