Today, we shine the Uncommitted Spotlight on the profile of the #23 ranked player in California as we look at SoCal '27 SS/RHP Joseph Flores Jr. of Arlington High School in Riverside, Calif.. The talented Inland Empire two-way product was a key cog in the Arlington run towards their fourth straight Ivy League title.

Flores Jr. began his journey on the Prep Baseball California stage by attending the 2023 Inland Empire Rising Stars ID then qualified for the 2023 SoCal Rising Stars Game which lead to an invite to be a member of Team California at the 2023 Prep Baseball Future Games and then closed out the 2023 year with a strong showing at the California State Games and SoCal Underclass Games. He opened the 2024 year by being one of the top performers at the SoCal Preseason All State: Underclass and then was outstanding at the 2024 California State Games. His dominant 2025 year was kickstarted by an outstanding showing at the San Diego Preseason All State and will be in attendance at the Future Games Tryout: Los Angeles as he eyes a potential invite for a return to Georgia for the 2025 Prep Baseball Future Games.

Flores Jr. checks in at 5'10 175 lbs. with an athletic build that has presently wiry strength to it with intriguing athletic ability. He ran a 7.27 60 time at the San Diego Preseason All State with solid burst off the line posting a 1.79 10 yard split and 4.07 30 yard split with a top end run speed of 19.1 MPH. His arm has consistently shown well with quality actions at SS which projects a future on the left side of the INF with a top velocity of 88 MPH.

At the plate the RH hitter has an athletic operation in the box with quickness across the board showing feel to utilize his lower half and has started to tap into his impact profile at the plate. On Blast Motion he posted 22 MPH hand speeds, 75.9 MPH bat speed with a solid 15.9 Gs of rotational acceleration across his various batting practice sessions. His Trackman batted ball data has shown very well including a 95.8 MPH max EV, 89.4 MPH avg EV with a 86% Sweet Spot rate, 332' max distance and a 50% hard hit rate. For the 2025 spring season Flores Jr. has posted 10+ extra base hits for Arlington.

As strong of a college level prospect at Flores Jr. is as a position player when the live armed righthander steps on the bump his profile is as impressive if not even more as a pitching prospect. During his most recent Prep Baseball California event the San Diego Preseason All State Flores Jr. hit 89.3 MPH on a FB which showed 2300+ RPMs of spin which he backed up with a 77-78 MPH CHG that he efficiently kills spin on giving it a SPLT like action in the 1100 RPM range and spun an impressive 73-77 MPH SLD with an average spin rate of 2500+ RPMs to dominate his outing there. During the spring season at Arlington Flores Jr. has run his FB consistently north of 90 MPH from an athletic clean operation which projects continued development to his velocity and life on his offerings as he matures.

With intriguing tools across the board from his RH hitting offensive profile to his ability to play the left side of the INF dirt long term and an impressive ceiling for him on the mound Flores Jr. is one of the top uncommitted players in the state of California showing potential two-way profile with his ability on each side of the game. Flores Jr. is a must follow this summer for the 2027 class and has a chance to be amongst the members of Team SoCal at the Prep Baseball Future Games come July.
