2025 Indiana Player of the Week: Week #5

Each week during the spring, our staff tabs a 'Player of the Week'. We rely heavily on coaches' submissions for this award, so it is imperative that coaches respond to our submission email each week in order to give our staff the ability to give recognition to players that are deserving. Each week, coaches can submit their candidates to [email protected].

Week #5 of the regular season has come to a conclusion & without further ado - find our Player of the Week for last week along with a group of honorable mentions.


Player of the Week

Collin Osenbaugh SS / RHP / Shenandoah , IN / 2025

+ The Louisville recruit wins Player of the Week honors for this week after shining on both sides of the ball. On the mound, Osenbaugh tossed a no-hitter where he allowed just (1) walk, and struck out (10). Offensively, the left-handed hitting infielder went 6-for-12 (.500) and clubbed (3) home runs. Osenbaugh drove in (10) runs on the week while also scoring (6) runs of his own. 


Honorable Mentions

Griffin Matracia, LHP, Beech Grove, 2025

+ Matracia threw (2) complete games on the week to pick up a pair of wins for Beech Grove. The uncommitted senior allowed just (6) hits and (2) runs, while striking out (12). He was also impressive at the dish, going 9-for-15 (.600) while collecting (8) RBI and (5) runs scored. 

Grayson Schneider, RHP, Tri-County, 2025

+ Schneider threw complete game shutout again this week with a very impressive statline that is as follows: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 19 SO.

Cade Van De Weg, LHP, Adams Central, 2025

+ The state's strikeout leader continued to dominate on the mound last week, striking out (21) batters in (11) innings of work. He allowed just (2) hits scattered across the (11) innings of work, and did not allow an earned run. Through Week #5 his season stats are: 30 IP,  66 K, 1.4 ERA. 

Mike Wright, RHP/OF, Seymour, 2025

+ Wright was one of the top candidates for this award after tossing a 5-inning no-hitter versus Columbus East on the mound last week. The University of Indianapolis recruit was equally impactful offensively, where he went 7-for-13 (.538) with (4) doubles and a homer. He also picked up (10) RBI throughout the week. 

Braxton Brosmer, SS, Jasper, 2025

+ Jasper is starting to get hot at the right time and their senior SS has had a big hand in that. Last week, the Indiana Wesleyan recruit went 6-for-9 (.667), including (2) doubles, (3) home runs, and (7) RBI. 

Jack Kunas, RHP, Munster, 2027

+ Kunas went the distance against 4A #6 Lake Central on Friday to earn his first varsity win. The uncommitted sophomore work (7) innings of 2-run baseball and allowed just (2) hits, while striking out (7). 

Drew Graft, OF, Norwell, 2025

+ The 2024 3A 1st Team All-State OF continues to tear it up in his senior campaign with another strong week. His stats for last week are as follows: 9-for-13, (.692), (2) 2Bs, (2) HRs, and (8) RBI.

Noah Dininger, C/RHP, Bethesda Christian, 2025

+ The Grace commit was a standout on both sides for Bethesda, punching out (26) in (13) innings of work. He also batted (.400) at the plate, collecting a double and a homer. 

Jonathan Riley, OF, McCutcheon, 2026

+ Riley shined for the Mavs last week at the dish, going 7-for-15 with a 2B, a 3B, and (2) HR. The uncommitted junior grabbed (8) RBI and scored (5) runs, as well, throughout the week. 

Kye Jacobs, SS, Clinton Prairie, 2026

+ One of our Preseason All-State 1A selections, Jacobs is living up to expectations with a 7-for-10 week last week that featured (3) HR, (2) 2B, (7) runs scored, and (10) RBI. 

Alex Jackson, SS, Heritage Christian, 2026

+ The uncommitted junior SS helped Heritage Christian to an appearance inside our 2A Top 10 with a big week at the dish last week. Jackson went 8-for-14 (.571) - highighted by (2) 2B, (2) 3B, and (2) HR. 

Bennett Isenburg, OF/P, Maconaquah, 2025

+ Isenburg tossed a 1-hit, complete game shutout in his start on the mound, racking up (12) strikeouts. He also hit (.387) over (4) games with a 2B, 3B, HR, (5) RBI, (5) runs, (7) SB. 

Maddox Moon, OF, Columbia City, 2026

+ Moon was super efficient last week with (10) hits in (16) trips, reaching a (.625) average for the week. He added (6) RBI and alos reached base at a (.667) clip. 

Lalo Castillo, OF, Frankfort, 2025

+ Castillo is a spark-plug for 10-2 Frankfort and last week he batted (.900) with (9) hits in (10) trips. His week was highlighted by a pair of doubles, (5) RBI, and (7) runs scored. 

Rykin Matthias, OF, North Central, 2026

+ Matthias leads the MIC in several slug categories and appears on this list yet again after clubbing (3) doubles and a grand slam HR last week. In total, the uncommitted LHH went 7-for-15, including (7) RBI and an OBP of (.579) for the week. 

Aydan Parr, OF/RHP, DeKalb, 2025

+ Parr was a force on both sides of the ball, as the senior outfielder went 6-for-9 (.667 AVG) at the plate, reaching base at a .750 clip. He added (1) double, (1) home run, (7) RBIs, (6) runs scored, and (5) stolen bases. On the mound, Parr struck out (3) in a clean inning of relief early in the week, then returned to toss a complete game one-hitter with (6) strikeouts.

Jacob Morris, INF/RHP, New Palestine, 2026

+ Morris was outstanding at the dish in (3) GP last week with his statline as follows: 6-for-8 (.750), (3) HR, (9) RBI, (.833) OBP. 

Ty Frakes, INF, Pendleton Heights, 2025

+ Frakes posted an efficient week for the #17 ranked Arabians last week, going 7-for-10 (.700) with a 2B, (2) RBI, (3) runs scored, to go along with a pair of stolen bases.

Canyon Koonce, OF, Brownsburg, 2028

+ The freshman phenom is leading the HCC in hitting halfway through the season and his performance last week lands him on this list. Koonce went 7-for-10 with (3) triples, (6) runs scored, and (4) stolen bases. 

Zaire McKinney, OF, Michigan City, 2026

+ McKinney had a big week last week that included a (.667) average on (8) hits. His week was highlighted by a double, a triple, (5) RBI, (8) runs scored, and (5) SB. 

River Pecina, OF, Penn, 2025

+ The senior headed to Marian hit (.700) last week with (7) hits in (10) trips for the 4A #1 ranked Penn Kingsmen. He hit a double, collected (3) RBI, and stole (6) bags. 

Ty Hamilton, RHP/3B, Sullivan, 2026

+ Hamilton was dominant for the Golden Arrows last week, who are 13-2 at the midway point of the spring. On the mound, the strong-armed junior tossed a complete game, no-hit performance where he walked just a pair of batters and struck out (15). Offensively, Hamilton went 5-for-10 with (2) 2B, a HR, and (7) runs scored.
