Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week: Braylon Brantner

RHP Braylon Brantner (Hortonville, 2026) has operated as the ace for the Polar Bears the entire year, stringing together strong outings throughout the spring. On Tuesday, the junior completed a seven inning perfect game, striking out 10 batters. For his efforts, Brantner has been named this week’s Pitcher of the Week.

In Tuesday’s conference matchup against Appleton West, Brantner retired 21 straight batters only needing 71 pitches, 52 strikes, while striking out 10 batters. The right-hander can really pitch using his entire arsenal, locating each pitch in the zone.

Branter has been a follow in the state’s 2026 class for some time now, with his stuff continuing to tick up each year while maintaining the same pitchability and feel for his arsenal. The fastball reaches the upper-80s, while maintaining mid-80s velo throughout outings with a firm curveball and a fading changeup in the low-80s that he uses against left-handed hitters.

Scouting Report

3/04/25

+ RHP Braylon Brantner (Hortonville, 2026) was one of the big winners of the day. His average fastball the last time we saw him was 83. Today the ball was jumping out of his hand and was up to 87 with good downhill angle through the hitting zone. Late breaking curveball at 75 mph with two-plan breaking action for strikes and was used to expand. He rounded out his arsenal with a change up with heavy arm side run at the plate. Arrow up for the athletic right-hander.

We're thankful for the POTW submissions we received from the coaches across the state. The players who garnered POTW consideration will earn a place within tomorrow's Diamond Notes story, so be on the lookout for that.
