EDMOND NORTH VS BIXBY

EDMOND NORTH

OVERALL RECORD - 16-22
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 1-4

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Brandon Green (Eastern Oklahoma State), 2025 Isaac Worden (Cowley County), 2026 Paxton McClain

HOW THEY GOT HERE: After finishing 5th in District 6A-1, the Huskies didn't give themselves an easy road as the 3 seed in the Edmond Memorial Regional. After coming from behind in the regional's opener to beat a tough Moore squad, the Huskies upset top seeded Edmond Memorial to move to 2-0. Needing to be beat twice, they would once again beat regional host Edmond Memorial by a convincing score of 7-2 and sweep their way into the State Tournament. Senior Isaac Worden threw a CG in the final game of the regional, allowing just two runs, after getting a save the day before.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Coach Allen made all the right moves last week as the Huskies excelled in all phases and have now won 7 of their last 8 games. On the mound, they have shown the ability to really battle and compete through adversity. Both Green and McClain executed pitches in big spots, both in tight games in the regional, and will need to continue to execute at a high level. Offensively, the Huskies executed and continued to add on in the deciding game while also getting production from the bottom portion of their lineup - specifically in freshman shortstop Parker Allen. Against Bixby, they'll more than likely get Brian Justice in game 1 and they'll once again get an opportunity to compete against a frontline high quality arm that has limited opponent chances to score all year. They'll  need a high quality start from their starting pitching, and create offense with their entire lineup. The middle of the order delivered some big blows against Memorial a week ago and will need more of the same against the Spartans.

BIXBY

OVERALL RECORD - 30-9
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 3-3

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Brian Justice (Barton County), 2026 Coen Miller, 2025 Landon Wegener (Redlands)

HOW THEY GOT HERE: After finishing second in District 6A-4, the Spartans played host to their own regional as they swept their way through and into the state tournament. Opening up with Ponca City, they won 11-1 before matching up in a second round game with Sand Springs. They jumped all over the Sandites, scoring four runs in the first three innings and held on 4-1. In game 3, the offensse came alive with a 9 spot in the 6th to come back from a 6-2 deficit and win by a final score of 11-6. That offensive explosion could be just what the Spartans needed to catapult themselves into a state tourney run this week.

KEYS TO VICTORY: With a deep and experienced senior class, a stable of college-bound arms, and a balanced offense, the Spartans boast one of the more complete rosters in the state. On the mound, Brian Justice leads the way as a two-way threat, flashing a competitive edge and quality stuff that has anchored the rotation. Justice also contributes offensively, giving Bixby valuable versatility.  Landen Wegener, Coen Miller, Cooper Leggett, and Brennen Galligan give the Spartans even more depth, allowing them to match up effectively in a playoff setting.  Offensively, the Spartans can produce throughout the lineup. Rhett Leu and Grant Goldman bring power and experience to the infield corners, while Barrett Standley adds a spark as an emerging young outfielder with on-base skills and athleticism at the top of the Bixby order. Graham Knight, another contributor, has shown pop at the plate and solid defense in the outfield.  Against Edmond North, the Spartans have had success with solid pitching and defense first and foremost. They've used stellar starting pitching and an experienced bullpen to give them an opportunity in each game. Offensively, they consistently compete with 2 strikes and limit punch outs which will continue to be a key in postseason play. A well coached offense, the depth of their lineup will be a key against Edmond North as they look to get into the Husky bullpen and put pressure on the opposing staff.

CHOCTAW VS OWASSO

CHOCTAW

OVERALL RECORD - 27-7
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 2-3

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Gaige Albright (Oklahoma State), 2026 Broedy Taron

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Coach Hawk and the Yellowjackets finished the regular season winning ten in a row by a combined score of 92-19. In their regional, they beat PC West 12-2 in the opener before jumping all over defending state champion Westmoore 11-1 in the winner's bracket game. They swept their way through the regional defeating the Jaguars again, this time in a close 4-2 ball game, that saw them hang all four runs in the 4th inning that punched their ticket to the state tournament.

KEYS TO VICTORY: At 27-7, the Yellowjackets have had a strong campaign and have continued to get better and better throughout that time. Offensively, they're averaging over 9 runs a game in their last 10 and have shown to be one of the deepest and toughest lineups in the state. They’re led by Tennessee commit, senior Cash Williams but have had production from plenty of others including Bryce Tapley, Gaige Albright, Reuben Robinson, and Cade Green. Juniors Broedy Taron and Logan Nei have also been impactful as Taron continues to play high level defense at SS. Sophomore Titus Hawk, long levered multi-sport standout, has hit in the 2-3 spot throughout the season and continues to show his athleticism and ability to execute as part of the Yellowjacket team offense and one of the top first baseman in the state. On the mound, they’re led by OSU signee Gaige Albright as the left hander works into the low 90s while utilizing his entire mix. Broedy Taron has slotted in as the #2 and the middle infielder offers a ton of feel while being ultra competitive. In what will be one of the most anticipated matchups of the postseason, we'll see two of the most discipline offenses in the state come together. LHP Gaige Albright will attack the right handed 2-4 hitters of the Owasso lineup (Ranallo, Auschwitz, Bauer) but a key will be to do so without Rams leadoff man Easton Hailey on the bases. Albright's ability to land secondary offerings will be even more valuable in this matchup to keep a potent Owasso offense off balance. Offensively, as mentioned, we've seen the Yellowjackets wear down opposing arms all year and get into the bullpen. Whether they see Ranallo or Schroyer, look for the Choctaw lineup to be competitive with 2K, often times seeing 3-4 more pitches and running up the pitch count of the starter. Also, look for the depth of the lineup to be a factor with guys like Broedy Taron, Cade Green, or Cooper Zeiders playing a key role executing or delivering in a big moment from the bottom half of the lineup.

OWASSO

OVERALL RECORD - 37-2
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 5-0

PROBABLE STARTER: 2026 Kooper Ranallo, 2025 Cayden Schroyer, 2025 Jaiden Gustafson (Eastern Oklahoma State)

HOW THEY GOT HERE: The Rams have rolled all year as referenced with their 37-2 mark, 13-1 in 6A-3, and hosting a regional. In the regional, they played more tight games but came out on the right side just as they have much of the year. Playing Jenks in the 1-0 game, they got another great from Kooper Ranallo with the only blemish being a 7th Inning HR from Clark Cariker. In the final, they met up with Union and the top of the order was the difference. The top four hitters in the Ram lineup scored 4 of the 6 runs while also driving in 5 of the 6 in route to a 6-3 victory and punching their ticket to the state tourney.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Coach Turner and the Rams have been wire-to-wire one of the best teams in the state throughout the 2025 season.  Throughout the roster, they have been as steady as it gets in all facets. On the mound, they’re led by two-way Kooper Ranallo as he offers a low 90s fastball along with big pitchability in his secondary offerings. They have also had big seasons out of Jaden Gustafson as well as senior LHP Cayden Schroyer using his long frame to create tough angles for opposing hitters. Offensively, it’s as steady a group as you’ll find in the state and it starts with leadoff man, junior Easton Hailey. He’s on a shortlist of the top table setters in the state as he churns out Quality ABs consistently. Senior Cooper Auschwitz is one of the top power hitters in the state but has also shown the ability to hit deep into counts. In what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games we've seen all year, we'll see two extremely disciplined teams matchup. Coach Turner will have two very strong options, both left handed, in Kooper Ranallo and Cayden Schroyer to give them a strong start like the Rams have had all year. Outside of talented sophomore Titus Hawk, a majority of the Choctaw lineup is right handed and will make for an interesting matchup. Offensively, the Rams really roll when they get the leadoff man on and "spit" on marginal pitches as a group as well as anyone in the state. They have had the ability to get into opposing bullpens at a high level and will be a key as they expect to see Oklahoma State signee Gaige Albright and his advanced mix. To continue playing on Friday, look for the Rams to execute at a high level while getting the leadoff man on base, limit punchouts, and get into the Choctaw bullpen.

STILLWATER VS PIEDMONT

STILLWATER

OVERALL RECORD - 25-7
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 7-2

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Isaiah Smith (NOC Enid), 2025 Landon Sterling (Cowley), 2027 Bradyn Pratt

HOW THEY GOT HERE: The Pioneers finished 1st in 6A-4 thanks to a sweep of Bixby in the season's last week and also giving them the opportunity to host.  They would roll through their regional after defeating a gritty and tough Sapulpa squad twice (scores of 4-2 and 8-1) to punch their ticket back to the State Tournament.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Coach Lees and the Pioneers have been red hot entering the State Tournament, winning 8 in a row, including three of which against teams also in the 6A State Tournament. The Pioneers have blended seasoned leadership with a talented group of underclassmen, creating a roster that can win in a variety of ways — through solid starting pitching, fundamentally sound defense, and a disciplined approach at the plate. At the heart of the lineup is Ethan Holliday, one of the premier infielders in the country. A true difference-maker, Holliday offers elite offensive upside and plays with the kind of poise and leadership that sets the tone for the entire team. Alongside him in the middle infield is cousin Brady Holliday, who has impressed in his sophomore campaign with his steady glove and mature plate presence, forming arguably one of the most talented double-play duos in the state. Senior Parker Edwards is another key piece, providing leadership behind the dish and a calm, veteran presence in the lineup along with sophomore Kaden Twyman who continues to grow and develop as the season continues. Isaiah Smith gives the Pioneers a key two-way threat. Smith has shown the ability to drive the baseball with authority while also offering quality innings on the mound. His versatility and experience make him a valuable piece in both the lineup and the rotation. The pitching staff leans on the upside of Bradyn Pratt, who has made a name for himself as a sophomore with advanced command and confidence on the bump. Landon Sterling gives them a chance every time out commanding his mid 80’s fastball with good off-speed stuff. We get a rematch of opening day, a 14-6 Stillwater win, but saw Piedmont starter Catcher Lindley work effectively. He punchhed out 6 in four innings of work allowing just two runs. In this meeting, look for Stillwater to pressure Lindley, this time with Brady Holliday in the lineup (out with injury in first matchup) in both short game as well as on the bases. Look for guys like Kaden Twyman, Daniel Wulfert, and Parker Edwards to play a big role driving in runs in some key spots. The Wildcats love to execute short game, often times with a safety squeeze to score, and the high IQ infield of the Pioneers could be a big factor in playing catch, being in the right spots, and senior catcher Parker Edwards insuring outs are recorded.

PIEDMONT

OVERALL RECORD - 28-13
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 2-7

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Catcher Lindley (NOC Enid), 2026 Drake May

HOW THEY GOT HERE: At 27-13, including a 9-5 finish and 3rd place finish in District 6A-2, the Wildcats finished the season strong and are winners of 16 of their last 20. The 2-seed in the Yukon Regional, the Wildcats were resilient as they lost in the 1-0 Winner's Bracket game against host Yukon. They battled back through and defeated the Millers twice to punch their ticket to the State Tournament.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Coach Skokowski and the Wildcats have quietly put together another big year playing quality baseball with a long-known winning formula of excellent pitching and defense. They are led by senior Catcher Lindley and junior Drake May on the mound which give them an opportunity to beat anyone on any given day. Lindley has turned in impressive starts throughout the year with advanced feel for his mix and the ability to tunnel the changeup on his armside running fastball. May is as good an athlete on the mound as you'll find, and has been fearless in attacking the zone with his entire mix as well. With their backs against the wall, May fired a 5 Inning No Hitter in an elimination game against host Yukon. Offensively, they find the most success in executing at a high clip as they put together long, quality ABs throughout the lineup, utilize short game, and execute with runners at third base and less than two outs at a high level. Catcher Reid Smith and his high OBP have found success in the leadoff spot while CF Zane Pruitt, infielder Clayton Harrington, outfielder Nathan Ma, and junior Jack Guinn have all produced runs and shown the ability to put pressure on opposing defenses. In what is one of the most interesting matchups in all the state tournaments, Piedmont's steady pitching and defense look to keep them in this game. Coach Sko has two of the better options with a true #1 and #1A in Lindley and May. Lindley's best pitch, a tunneled CH off the armside FB, could be an equalizer for the talented Stillwater left handed hitting Hollidays at the top of the order, but junior Drake May continues to get better and better with increased pitchability. The Wildcats see a heavy influx in runs when the leadoff man is able to get on allowing Piedmont to "stay on schedule" and execute short game as they like to do and force opposing teams to play catch successfully. In their last two wins, the Wildcats had the leadoff man on in 4/5 Innings (14-0 win) and 3/7 Innings (5-4 win w/ all 5 in 2nd Inning w/ leadoff man on) showing how important it is to their offensive makeup. Expect that to be a key factor in the outcome of this one.

BROKEN ARROW VS EDMOND SANTA FE

BROKEN ARROW

OVERALL RECORD - 20-17
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 0-6

PROBABLE STARTER: 2025 Landon Thiel (Allen County), 2025 Daniel Turnham (Kansas Wesleyan), 2025 Shay Tipton

HOW THEY GOT HERE: The Tigers earned a 2 Seed in the Enid Regional following a 20-17 overall record and 9-5 district record in 6A-4 - good enough for a 3rd place finish. In one of the more impressive showing in all of 6A Regionals, they saw multiple guys step up in a massive way as they swept their way through the Enid Regional. Following a 3-2 victory over Southmoore, Broken Arrow continued to win close ball games as they beat host Enid 4-3 and 5-2 to punch their ticket to the state tournament.

KEYS TO VICTORY: Coach Dobson and the Tigers have a lineup full of youth that have added more consistent play throughout the year that has turned into a solid 9-5 district record. They have reloaded their roster following the graduation of a large number of contributors from a year ago and have had various underclassmen step up. Leadoff man and sophomore shortstop Jake Lopez has been steady on both sides of the ball finding ways on base thanks to a mature approach and sure-handed defense. Junior Javen Divine has continued to develop into a well rounded player planted firmly in the middle of the Tigers roster as well. Finally, sophomore Luke Franks brings physicality to the BA lineup with extra base hit potential and can drive in runs at any point. Freshman Jasper Reid has also shown strong upside in a well rounded game as well. On the mound, senior Landon Thiel has shown the ability to beat anyone and gives Broken Arrow a chance to compete anytime he's on the mound. Last week, the Tigers got big starts from Daniel Turnham and Shay Tipton. They offer one of the most diverse roster makeups in the state with an overall young roster but also experience on the mound. A tough matchup is nothing new for the Tigers and they won't be intimidated despite the youth at the top of the lineup. Anticipating to see Santa Fe starter Savion Sims, the ability to win the freebie war will be a huge factor. In their wins, Broken Arrow has shown great patience, extending ABs, and earning walks while limiting punchouts. That team offense has shown to wear down opposing arms and get into the bullpen. On the mound, the Tigers will get to compete against one of the deepest lineups in the state that hunt extra base hits throughout the lineup. A big key will be in once again limiting freebies, playing sound defense as Landon Thiel will attack the zone and force action. Broken Arrow is peaking at the right time and high level pitching and defense will once again be a key factor to continue this hot streak as it was in the Enid Regional.

EDMOND SANTA FE

OVERALL RECORD - 33-7
RECORD AGAINST THE FIELD - 7-2

PROBABLE STARTER: 2026 Savion Sims (OU commit), 2025 Carson Cooper (Central Missouri)

HOW THEY GOT HERE: After winning District 6A-2, the Wolves were able to host their regional last week despite it being played on the turf at Deer Creek due to weather conditions. They beat Capitol Hill handedly before beating Deer Creek in the 1-0 Winner’s Bracket game in a game that was closer than the final score indicated of 10-3. Needing to be defeated twice, they once again ran into the Antlers in a hard fought back and forth affair that saw the Wolves walk off on a 2-RBI single in the Bottom of the 9th that punched their ticket to the State Tournament.

KEYS TO VICTORY: There aren’t many teams as hot as Coach Webb’s Santa Fe Wolves entering the tournament having won 19 of their last 20. Early on, they were forced to battle through injuries and we saw that depth pay dividends last week with guys getting more opportunities early in the season.  Offensively, they pack a punch led by Senior and Arkansas signee Carson Brumbaugh in the leadoff spot with one of the most advanced hit tools in the state. Further, their lineup is as clear in their understanding of their tools and roles as anyone in the state with players like Brady Morgeson, Hayden Towell, Savion Sims, Carson Cooper, Whaetly Chaloupek, and emerging sophomore Eli Parkhurst. On the mound, they have continued to become more well rounded while still led by Oklahoma commit and 2026 MLB Draft Prospect Savion Sims and his high-octane fastball (up to 98.5 mph) and improved swing and miss slider from an imposing frame. They have also had huge innings thrown by Cooper, Chaloupek, and Aidan Allred flashing both a talented and deep pitching staff.. The Tigers starting pitching will attack the strike zone and allow their defense to make plays. The Wolves are an athletic mix offensively, that have shown the ability to execute throughout the lineup. In their last 20 games, they have averaged 8.85 runs per game and give themselves an opportunity to score runs in bunches. On the mound, attacking the strike zone will be a key for the Wolves as Broken Arrow's offensive attack can really be enhanced when they win the freebie war. The depth of the bullpen and the quality arms on the backend could also be a huge factor late.
