Each week, WIAA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Wisconsin Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Wisconsin Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 5 Player of the Week to OF/DH Jack Murray (Brookfield East, 2026) and the Pitcher of the Week to RHP Tavian Shramek (Blair-Taylor, 2025; Madison JC) for their excellent performances on the diamond. Murray swung a hot bat for the Spartans last week going 10-for-18 helping his team to a 4-1 record for the week. On the year up to this point, Murray is hitting .556 with a 1.545 OPS while hitting three-hole for them this spring. On Tuesday, the senior, Shramek struck out 15 batters across 5.2 innings allowing two hits and a walk, while eclipsing 400 career strikeouts during the outing
