2025 Prep Baseball Iowa High School Team Previews: Volume 9

Prep Baseball Iowa strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. Prep Baseball is the number one resource for high school baseball in each state that we cover through various events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work together, creating each state's most potent high school baseball promotion source. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

As we prepare for the upcoming 2025 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

ROLAND-STORY NORSEMEN

Head Coach: Chris Hill (385-275)

Class: Class 2A
Conference: Heart of Iowa
2024 Record: 16-18 (District Champions)

Coach's Comment:
"We graduated one senior last year that was a very key part to our team. We are returning a lot of young players that have gained a lot of experience over the past two years. Hopeful that experience will lead to increased productivity at the plate and in the field. We should have more depth this year than in years past. We will be pretty sophomore heavy, but shouldn't carry a lot of growing pains as many of them have a couple years of varsity experience already." 

DES MOINES CHRISTIAN LIONS

Head Coach: Derek Flack (18 seasons, 407-275)

Coach's Comment:
"We have a lot of experience coming back, but a lot of players will be playing in a new role. Our pitching staff will be deep and we have guys that are ready to throw meaningful innings on the mound for the first time at the Varsity level. We only have one senior, but we have 9 players with 3+ years of Varsity experience returning. Our lineup will be flexible as most of our guys can play multiple positions, and they will move around depending on who is pitching." 

ALGONA BULLDOGS

"I'm not sure how we are gonna be, but I'd like to think we are gonna compete on the mound every night. We have 6 starters coming back from a team that took the state champions to the wire and have 192 1/3 innings returning. But that was last year. We need to be consistent and compete at a high level every night because we are gonna get everybody's best shot." 

BONDURANT-FARRAR BLUEJAYS

Head Coach: DJ Duve (1 season, 23-9)

NORTH SCOTT LANCERS

"Our team has been putting in a lot of hard work over the Winter and Spring preparing for the 2025 season. We have a strong nucleus of returning players and underclassman to put us in a good position to compete at a high level. The success of our season will come down to our pitchers competing each night and being able to get those timely hits with runners in scoring position. We are looking forward to a fun summer of baseball in 2025!"

Our coaching staff has set ambitious goals for 2025, and we can't wait to see what this season brings." 

NORTHEAST REBELS

"We returned an awesome group of kids that really helped put Northeast baseball back on the map last year. Our conference is super tough and we are excited to continue to grow and improve and continue to be a force to be reckon with in the RVC North. We didn't acheive what we wanted last postseason and I'm hoping that has lit a fire in this team that will push them to work as hard as they possibly can to acheive even higher goals then last year. We have a bunch of super talented players that are fun to coach and make coming to the field fun every single day. I am looking for that fun and passion to continue to grow and take this group to new heights that this program has never really seen before." 

DUBUQUE WAHLERT GOLDEN EAGLES

A young team who has worked very hard this offseason."
