This Tuesday, Prep Baseball staff were in attendance to watch the #1 ranked team in the Power 25, undefeated Puyallup take on Curtis. Puyallup threw their top arm and had the bats going from the jump, cruising to an 11-0 victory and moving to 22-0 on the season. Below are scouting notes on standout prospects from the game.
Puyallup vs. Curtis (5.6.25)
Puyallup
'25 RHP/INF Mason Pike (Oregon State Commit)
Pike won Prep Baseball's High School Player of the Year award in 2024 and has built a strong case to repeat this spring, dominating both on the mound and at the plate all season. In this look, Pike got the start on the mound, where he sat 92-94 T95 MPH with an overpowering heater early. Showed a CB/SL/CH at various points, leaning on the FB/SL combination for the most part. Went the distance in a 5-inning run rule shortened game, allowing 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, and striking out 9. The switch hitter also went 2-3 with a run at the plate. On the whole this season, the Oregon State commit has now pitched 50 innings while allowing a miniscule 2 earned runs, with 81 K/14 BB. Standout talent.

'27 INF Brayden Landry (Uncommitted)
One of the premier athletes in the PNW and a highly touted sophomore, Landry has hit leadoff and manned shortstop well all spring for the number one ranked team in the state. Landry was all over the stat sheet in this look, going 2-4, 2 RBI, R while playing a plus SS. Top-end speed and glove for his age continues to show in-game. Quickness in the hands helps for a lightning fast transfer to throw as well as some adjustability at the plate. Must follow player this summer as his recruiting period opens.
'26 OF Noah Benedict (Uncommitted)
The Future Games alum was one of several Vikings with a productive night at the plate, reaching base in each of his three plate appearances. Barrelled a fastball back up the middle for a single in his first AB, showing present strength. Walked in his next 2 PA's. More of a corner OF type, saw limited action defensively. Benedict is now reaching base at over a .500 clip this season with 8 XBH's, with a sound overall game.

'25 OF Riley Sanoy (Pierce College Commit)
Senior has the second-highest batting average for the Vikings at over .420, and was arguably the best bat in a huge night for Puyallup's offense. Lefty bat went 2-3, R, BB, 4 RBI, including driving in the final two runs to secure the run rule victory. Tall, lean athlete carries a heavy barrel through the zone, creating separation and generating hard contact consistently. Mans CF with long strides defensively. Quiet, steady demeanor. Senior in the midst of a great final season.
'27 C Keagan Soliza (Uncommitted)
The catcher's night was highlighted by a pair of nearly identical doubles hit down the right field line. Soliza finished 2-3 with a run scored, providing offense from the bottom of the order for Puyallup. Quick, twitchy LH swing plays well to the pull side. Impressive maturity and poise behind the plate defensively in handling high velocity. One of the best runners on the team as well.

Curtis
'26 C Joe Giles (Uncommitted)
On what was a tough night for the Curtis offense, Giles turned in some of the best at-bats all night long. Lefty bat with a strong, stockier frame was strong through contact and looked under control while facing a tough arm. Worked some long at-bats and used the whole field, going 1-2 with a single and a walk. Strong defender with minimal wasted movement when sticking frames. Throws were on the bag. Uncommitted junior to circle.

Lefty bat held his own against high velocity and worked deep counts. Some present strength and adjustability at the plate shown.… pic.twitter.com/eaPm8HwPdG
'26 INF Riley Angelo (Uncommitted)
Angelo's sound overall game was on display throughout despite a quieter night offensively. Smoother actions in the infield with a compact frame. Managed to reach base via a walk against a tough arm, working the count a bit in both plate appearances. Junior has been one of the better bats for Curtis all season, reaching base at a .465 clip from the top part of the order.
'25 OF Micah Yanos (Uncommitted)
Yanos nearly left the yard in the first inning, flying out just shy of the wall in RCF. The lefty bat showcased a shorter path with some loft. A multi-sport athlete, the senior showed enough speed for any of the three outfield positions with developing arm strength. Intruiging player.
