This weekend, Prep Baseball staff was in attendance for a pair of 4A District 1/2 playoff games. The winner-to-state matchups held at Bannerwood Park featured some high-level competition and several standout player performances. Below are scouting notes and video from the weekend's games.

Lake Washington vs. Kamiak (5.10.25)

Lake Washington

'25 LHP Shane Johnson (Oregon Commit)
One of the top-ranked lefty arms in his class, Johnson battled through 5 innings despite not having his best stuff, turning in a solid performance to help clinch LW a spot in the 4A state tournament. The senior worked through some control issues early and gave up a run in the first, but settled in and cruised from there, with a final line of 5 IP, 3 H, R, BB, 7 K. The FB velocity sat 84-86 MPH, and the lefty leaned on all four of his offerings, including a plus CB/SL combination. Johnson will be leaned upon heavily as the Kang's top arm heading into state.

'25 C Boden Reeve (Uncommitted)
The offensive star of the day, Reeve finished the game 3-3 with three loud knocks, the best of which resulted in a three-run walkoff triple to clinch the run rule 5 inning victory. The senior backstop featured a balanced LH swing with an uphill path that found the barrel consistently. Some athleticism present in the lean frame that moved well defensively behind the plate. Senior will be a key near the top of the order for LW.

'26 OF Will Cooley (Gonzaga Commit)
The athletic junior who has already secured a D-1 commitment has battled injury this spring, but still found a way to be productive in this game with an early RBI single up the middle. Short stride load with a direct LH barrel path led to positive results. Showed ability to shorten up with two strikes and adjust to offspeed. Went 1-2 with a HBP and RBI overall.

'27 INF Noah Kwon (Uncommitted)
Compact-framed leadoff man was a catalyst all morning, filling up the stat sheet offensively while playing a sound shortstop. Kwon showed his ability to play small ball with an executed suicide squeeze to plate a run, followed later by a bunt base hit laid perfectly where there were no defenders. More of a contact-over-power approach to this point due to developing physicality, but still has shown quality fundamentals. Finished 1-2, 2 R, RBI, BB on the day.

Kamiak

'25 OF Elijah Bovey (Edmonds Commit)
Bovey was one of the few offensive successes in what was a quiet game for the Knights' offense, finishing with 2 of the team's 3 hits. High-waised, lean prospect jumped on fastballs early in counts, including a knock on the first pitch of the game. Long strider showcased plus speed on the bases and in the field. Senior has been productive all spring, hitting .369 with 5 XBH.

'26 INF Colby Koga (Uncommitted)
Another top of the order bat that found success offensively, Koga reached base twice, going 1-2 with a HBP against a tough arm. Flatter RH swing stays through the zone well and works with medium frame. More of a contact approach with ability for occasional gap power. Makes the routine play at SS, and showcased an aggressive approach in running the bases.

'25 1B Andrew Fetty (Concordia NE Commit)
Physical lefty bat was held hitless in this look but has shown plenty of ability throughout the season. Powerful levers travel through the zone with plus bat speed that has resulted in 9 doubles and 4 HR this spring. Showed consistent ability to pick it at 1B with some ability to move laterally. Dangerous middle of the order presence.

Jackson vs. North Creek (5.10.25)

Jackson

'26 RHP Quinten Johns (Uncommitted)
The uncommitted junior turned in one of the grittier performances on the mound seen all spring, working around traffic throughout and posting a final line of 6.1 IP, 5 H, R, 4 BB, 5 K. FB sat 80-83 but topped out at 85 MPH. Righty leaned heavily on a CH/SL combination, throwing both offspeed deliveries in all counts to keep hitters off-balance. Lower 3/4 slot release gave the FB/CH some run in on the hands of righty bats. Competitive demeanor throughout. Impressive outing to send the Timberwolves to the 4A state playoffs.

'26 OF Ashton Bergman (Uncommitted)
Bergman delivered some clutch at-bats in the leadoff spot, finishing 2-4 with 2 RBI on the afternoon. The junior showed the ability to shorten up with two strikes on both of his RBI singles. The lefty outfielder has been Jackson's leading hitter this season, leading the team in batting average by a wide margin with a contact-oriented approach. Developing athleticism in the OF with great jumps and reads on fly balls shown.

'27 INF Austin Halvorson (Uncommitted)
Tall, projectable sophomore looked the part at shortstop and at the plate. Drove in the first run of the game with a barrel pulled through the left side early. Lefty bat finished 1-3, 2 R, RBI, BB overall. Made an impact on the bases with a pair of SB as well. The arm has shown to be the leading tool at points in the past, but Halvorson had a great all-around performance in this look.

'27 C Gavin Duckart (Uncommitted)
Duckart showed exactly what you want out of the catcher position, showcasing leadership and maturity to go alongside some impact in the middle of the order. Caught a great game defensively, limiting the run game and minimizing passed balls/wild pitches. Simple, direct approach at the plate, going 1-3 with a walk. Plenty of potential to tap in to more power as strength fills out. Sophomore will be key in Jackson's state tournament bid.

North Creek

'26 C Ethan Swallom (Uncommitted)
Junior was on base four times in a remarkable offensive performace, continuing his stellar play this spring. Drove in the lone run of the game for the Jaguars with a line drive up the middle late. Long levers extend to meet ball out front at contact with a strong two-hand finish. Plus arm behind the plate with throws around the bag. Calm, steady demeanor. Went 2-2 with 2 walks, bringing his average to .333 overall. Uncommitted catcher to circle.

'25 RHP/INF Cayden Christopherson (Everett CC Commit)
Senior has been a workhorse, totaling over 50 innings on the mound for North Creek, and showed flashes despite giving up a few runs on Saturday. FB sat in the low 80's with a breaking ball at 68-72 MPH mixed in. Recorded 3 strikeouts while going 4.2 IP on the mound. Physical bat was held hitless but has shown ability to generate loud contact from the right hand side. Righty still has a 1.38 ERA this spring and has been an important two-way player for NC.

'25 INF Joseph Boschee (Uncommitted)
Senior reached base twice, going 1-2 with a single and a walk on what was a tough afternoon for North Creek's offense as a whole. The righty had a pull-oriented approach all day, keeping the hands tight to his frame to pull the barrel through. Saw limited action in the field but made every play that came his way. The versatile player has been one of the better bats for the Jaguars this season.
