The WCAC season is over, with St. John's taking the crown once again. VISAA playoffs began today and will continue throughout the rest of the week. A fair portion of NOVA teams wrap up their regular season play this week and will move into district tournament play next week.

VA/DC Power 25 Update Notes

+ St. John's ran through the WCAC playoffs, and the WCAC season as a whole. The Cadets had a perfect WCAC record and rolled through the playoffs with a total line score of 41-4 over their five game playoff run. Safe to say, the Cadets are and will remain the #1 team in the state throughout the remainder of the season, no matter what anyone else does. No other team will be able to match their strength of schedule and overall record, as well as how they went about doing it. Their final record settles in at 30-1.

+ There is not a ton of "major" movement this week, but we do have a new team inside the Top 10. Jefferson Forest remains unbeaten, moving to 18-0 on the season. While there are surely tougher schedules inside the Power 25, the Cavs have handled business. This past week they played two of the better teams in the Seminole, with Brookville and Glass, and they handled them fairly easily with a total combined score of 18-4. JF still has a tough test or two coming up, with the LCA rematch looming on May 20th.

+ The Colgan Sharks move into the Power 25 after a massive win over Gainesville. The Sharks won 3-0 on a complete game shutout by Gavin Knox (Virginia Tech). While Colgan's schedule has been fairly light, they have been on a tear since spring break. Colgan was searching for that one signature win this season and they found it on Saturday, moving them into the Power 25.
