AHSAA Class 7A-1A Playoffs: Final 4 Playoff Performers

We're now down to the final two teams in each classification of the AHSAA Class 7A-1A State Playoffs. The Final 4 round was packed with standout performances as teams across Alabama pressed forward in their chase for a state title. From overpowering pitching displays to explosive offensive efforts, players rose to the occasion and delivered in key moments to help their teams secure championship berths. Here's a look at some of the top individual performers who made a big impact and helped build momentum heading into what promises to be another thrilling week of postseason action in Alabama.


Class 1A Top Performers

  • Blaise Vickery (Hackleburg) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 ER, 5 K; 2B, RBI in Game 1 as No. 1 Hackleburg swept No. 5 Addison.
  • Jaquan Reeder (Hackleburg) - 4-8, 3B, 4 RBI in the series as No. 1 Hackleburg swept No. 5 Addison.
  • Keegan Giles (Leroy) - 7 IP (CGW), 2 ER, 8 K in the deciding Game 3 as No. 6 Leroy took two of three from No. 9 Brantley.
  • Sawyer Sullivan (Leroy) - 3 IP in a Game 1 start and re-entered (0.2 IP) on the mound in the seventh, recording the final two outs with the bases loaded while clinging to an 8-7 lead as No. 6 Leroy took two of three from No. 9 Brantley.

Class 2A Top Performers

  • Calvin Johnson (Vincent) - 6 IP (W in relief), 2 H, 1 ER, 5 K in Game 2 to force a deciding Game 3 as No. 1 Vincent took two of three from No. 7 Mars Hill Bible.
  • Grayson Gulde (Vincent) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K in the deciding Game 3 as No. 1 Vincent took two of three from No. 7 Mars Hill Bible. He was also 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI in Game 2.
  • Aiden Poe (Vincent) - 2-3, 2B, 5 RBI in Game 2 as No. 1 Vincent took two of three from No. 7 Mars Hill Bible.
  • Kade Brookins (Pike Liberal Arts) - 5 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 10 K; 2-5, leadoff double in the bottom of the eighth and later stole home with two outs for the 12-11 win in Game 1 as No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts swept Reeltown.
  • Luke Barron (Pike Liberal Arts) - Got both wins on the mound in the series, throwing the final two innings of the 12-11 Game 1 win and getting the start in Game 2, going 5 innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs while striking out five as No. 9 Pike Liberal Arts swept Reeltown to advance to the 2A State Finals.

Class 3A Top Performers

  • Ford Hewitt (Gordo) - 4.2 IP (W in relief), 3 H, 2 ER; 2-5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI in Game 2 as No. 8 Gordo took two of three from No. 3 Winfield.
  • Collin Pate (Gordo) - had a 1-out walkoff single in the bottom of the tenth to give Gordo the 5-4 win in Game 2. In Game 3, Pate went the distance on the mound - 7 IP (CGW), 5 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K as No. 8 Gordo took two of three from No. 3 Winfield.
  • JP Driver (Gordo) - 5.1 IP (no decision), 3 H, 0 ER, 3 K; 2-5, RBI in Game 2 as No. 8 Gordo took two of three from No. 3 Winfield.
  • Mason McCraine (Glenwood) - 5 IP (CGW), 2 H, 0 ER, 8 K in Game 3; 8-10, 2 HR, 3B, 2B, 7 RBI as No. 2 Glenwood took two of three from No. 1 Prattville Christian.
  • Tyler Sykes (Glenwood) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K in Game 1 as No. 2 Glenwood took two of three from No. 1 Prattville Christian.
  • Carter Judah (Glenwood) - HR, 2B, 4 RBI in the series as No. 2 Glenwood took two of three from No. 1 Prattville Christian.

Class 4A Top Performers

  • Garrett Reid (Deshler) - 7 IP (CGW), 5 H, 1 ER, 5 K in Game 1 as No. 6 Deshler swept No. 2 Etowah.
  • Jacob Alexander (Deshler) - 7 IP (CGW), 3 H, 0 R, 3 K; HR, 2 RBI in Game 2 as No. 6 Deshler swept No. 2 Etowah.
  • Ethan McMillan (Bibb County) - 1 IP (SV), 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB; 1B, RBI in Game 1, 7 IP (CGW), 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 6 K; 2B, RBI in Game 2 as No. 3 Bibb County swept No. 1 Oak Grove.
  • Landon Shoults (Bibb County) - 2-4, go-ahead 2-out RBI single in the top of the seventh to give the Choctaws a 3-2 win in Game 1 as they swept No. 1 Oak Grove.
  • Macain McMillan (Bibb County) - 6 IP (W), 7 H, 1 ER, 6 K in Game 1 as No. 3 Bibb County swept No. 1 Oak Grove.

Class 5A Top Performers

  • Jaylen Crocker (American Christian Academy) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 4 K in Game 1 as No. 3 American Christian swept No. 2 Madison Academy.
  • BJ Garth (American Christian Academy) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 R, 3 K; 2B in Game 2 as No. 3 American Christian swept No. 2 Madison Academy.
  • Hunter Elmore (American Christian Academy) - 2-2, 2 RBI as he supplied all of the runs in Game 1 as No. 3 American Christian swept No. 2 Madison Academy.
  • Evan Lightsey (American Christian Academy) - 3-5, 2B, RBI in the series as No. 3 American Christian swept No. 2 Madison Academy.
  • Eric Hines (American Christian Academy) - 2-4, go-ahead HR in the 5th of Game 2 as No. 3 American Christian swept No. 2 Madison Academy.
  • Bradley Irish (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K in a must-win Game 2 as No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal took two of three from Elberta.
  • Edward McLeod (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - 3-4, 2 RBI in Game 3, including a 2-out, 2-RBI 1B in the top of the sixth to tie things up at 5-5. No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal went on to take two of three from Elberta.
  • Brooks McDonald (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - 2-3 in Game 3, including a two-out, two-run HR in the top of the sixth to put the Saints up 7-5 as No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal took two of three from Elberta.
  • John Stowers (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - had a big 2B, driving in three runs in the Saints' Game 2 4-1 win while also doubling in Game 3 as No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal took two of three from Elberta.
  • Ross Delaney (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - 4.2 IP (W in relief), 6 H, 0 ER, 4 K; 1B in Game 3 as No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal took two of three from Elberta.
  • Taylor O’Dell (Saint Paul’s Episcopal) - 2 IP (SV), 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K; HR, 2 RBI in Game 3 as No. 4 Saint Paul’s Episcopal took two of three from Elberta.

Class 6A Top Performers

  • Paxton Stallings (Chelsea) - 4 IP (W in relief), 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K in Game 1 as No. 3 Chelsea swept Stanhope Elmore.
  • Jackson Price (Chelsea) - 7 IP (CGW), 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 7 K in Game 2 as No. 3 Chelsea swept Stanhope Elmore.
  • Cade Mims (Chelsea) - 4-6, 2B, 2 RBI in the series as No. 3 Chelsea swept Stanhope Elmore.
  • Luke Neill (Chelsea) - 4-7, 4 RBI in the series as No. 3 Chelsea swept Stanhope Elmore.
  • Jace Meadows (Hartselle) - 5.2 IP (W), 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K in Game 1 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 8 Gardendale.
  • Connor Stiles (Hartselle) - 4 IP (W), 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K in Game 2 as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 8 Gardendale.
  • Ty Marsh (Hartselle) - 4-6, HR (Grand Slam), 2B, 6 RBI in the series as No. 1 Hartselle swept No. 8 Gardendale.

  • Brady Cavanaugh (Enterprise) - 5.2 IP (W), 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K in Game 1; 2B, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 3 SB in the series as No. 3 Enterprise swept No. 5 Fairhope.
  • Davis Shiver (Enterprise) - 7 IP (CGW), 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K in Game 2 as No. 3 Enterprise swept No. 5 Fairhope.
  • Brady Richardson (Enterprise) - 0.2 IP (SV), 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB in Game 1; 4-8, 2 RBI in the series as No. 3 Enterprise swept No. 5 Fairhope.
