2025 MSHSAA Team Rankings: Week 8

Prep Baseball Missouri Staff

The Missouri high school baseball kicks off on March 20th, opening day for regular season action under MSHSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we published our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Missouri Preseason Team Rankings.

Our rankings are broken up into two divisions: large school and small schools. We classify the 'large' schools as those residing in Class 5 & 6, while the small schools make up the remaining MSHSAA classifications. We rank what we believe to be the top teams in the state at that level, as well as highlighting several 'On Deck' teams.

Below you will find our Week 8 team rankings for the 2025 season for Large Schools and Small Schools.

2025 Prep Baseball Missouri Large School Rankings - Week 8

The top three teams in our rankings continue to dominate, as No. 1 Francis Howell, No. 2 St. John Vianney, and No. 3 Staley are all trending toward the 30-win mark. The trio has combined for just six losses on the season.

Rock Bridge climbs one spot to No. 5 after winning eight of its last ten, including a perfect 4-0 showing last week. Nixa jumps two spots to No. 6, following a 3-0 week capped by a commanding victory over Carl Junction. The Eagles boast a 22-9 record despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the state.

The biggest mover this week is Lee’s Summit, which vaults five spots to No. 7. The Tigers notched impressive wins over No. 13 Liberty North, No. 4 Blue Springs South, and small-school No. 2 Logan-Rogersville, surrendering only six runs across five victories.

Rockwood Summit reenters the rankings as the Falcons hit their stride ahead of districts. They've won 14 of their last 15, with notable victories over Lindbergh (twice), Oakville, Eureka (twice), and Lafayette (twice).

Making their debut this week is Platte County. The Pirates are 20-6 and bring an impressive résumé, with wins over No. 12 Jefferson City, No. 13 Liberty North, No. 9 Fort Zumwalt West, No. 8 Liberty, as well as Kearney and Grain Valley. They’re a team to watch as the postseason approaches.

Fort Zumwalt West and Liberty North slide four and six spots, respectively.

Lone Jack continues to be a force to be reckoned with. Fresh off their fifth consecutive I-70 Conference title, the Mules have now won 12 straight games, including a 4-0 week.

Logan-Rogersville moves up one spot in this update, having won nine in a row before falling to large-school No. 7 Lee’s Summit on Saturday. Summit Christian drops one spot after a challenging week.

Following a statement series sweep over then-No. 2 Summit Christian, Pembroke Hill surges into the rankings at No. 6. The Raiders have won 12 of their last 13 and are heating up at the right time as they head for a clash with Lone Jack in the district tournament.

Joining them is St. Elizabeth, making their debut in this week’s rankings. A perennial Class 1 contender, the Hornets are 17-7 with marquee wins over No. 6 Pembroke Hill and No. 5 Father Tolton—twice.
