Chris Dryll named Northeast Tournament Scouting Director
May 12, 2025
Our 2025 Prep Baseball summer tournaments in the Northeast (HS age) are set to kick off next month at several locations across upstate NY, Long Island, Northeast PA, and New Jersey. Hundreds of teams will be participating in Prep Baseball Tournaments across the Northeast region this summer, all anticipating the high-level standard that Prep Baseball Tournaments are known for around the country. Part of that higher level standard is providing premium scouting coverage at tournaments, which helps to provide a visible platform for players and college coaches to benefit from.
We are excited to announce the hiring of Chris Dryll as our new Northeast Tournament Scouting Director.
Chris has been with Prep Baseball since 2022 where he led scouting efforts on Long Island during the HS and summer seasons. In July of 2023, Chris was brought on by the Cleveland Guardians Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Area Supervisor as an Associate. Chris is a tireless worker with an eye for talent and a desire to help amateur baseball players along their journeys. Chris will oversee the scouting coverage at Prep Baseball tournaments (HS age) in the Northeast this summer providing social media posts, managing associate scouts, providing post event scout blog content, and working with Prep Baseball National Scouting Director, Shooter Hunt, on regional and national level talent at these events.
“I'm ecstatic to be named the Northeast Tournament Scouting Director for Prep Baseball. In-depth and efficient coverage will be the norm of our tournaments going forward, starting with thorough prep work beforehand and rounding out with diligent follow up afterward. I'm motivated to ensure our tournament scouting coverage stands alone for the foreseeable future," said Chris.
Over the last three years, Jared Carrier, the director for New York, has gotten to know Chris well. “Chris has provided top-tier coverage in both New York and Pennsylvania the last three years, including knowing the ins and outs of the Long Island baseball scene. There is no doubt that he will continue to dominate coverage on the Prep Baseball Tournament side of things,” said Carrier.
Northeast Supervisor, Dan Cevette, had this to say about Dryll: “I've had the opportunity of getting to know Chris over the last few years and his work ethic and consistency have always stood out to me. He's embraced the use of social media combined with having the necessary attributes needed to be a successful talent evaluator as good as anyone in our space. I'm thrilled for Chris and I anticipate him doing big things for our Northeast tournament scouting coverage this summer and beyond.”
Jason Tisa, Prep Baseball Tournaments Director of Northeast Operations has this to say about the hiring of Dryll: "We are incredibly excited to welcome Chris to our PBT Northeast team. Chris’ expertise and passion for baseball in the Northeast will be invaluable as we expand our tournament, and scouting coverage in the region. His impact surely will be felt on events going forward. Say hello to Chris this summer!"
