Gray Davis RHP / SS / Trinity, KY / 2027

7.0 IP | 1 H | 0 R | 0 BB | 12 K | 1 W | 0.00 ERA | 0.143 WHIP

Currently ranked #1 in the 2027 class, RHP/SS Gray Davis is this week's Prep Baseball KY Pitcher of the Week! It was an absolutely ridiculous week for Trinity's pitching rotation, kicked off by Davis' CG one-hitter against Indiana's then 2A #4 ranked Providence High School. The 6'1" 190lb two-way was dominant all day long and took a perfect game to one out in the 7th inning. Davis only saw a 3-ball count twice in the entire outing, completing the game in just 88 pitches. As demonstrated by his 88-92mph FB, 77-80mph (2300rpm) SL and 80mph CH that we saw back in March at our KY High School Invitational, Davis has an effortless ability to miss barrels while locating all three pitches in and out of the zone. The young righty recorded 19 whiffs on the day for an insane swing-and-miss percentage of 21.6%. Davis is now the leader in the Shamrocks' pitching staff with 43.0 IP, allowing just 5 ER on the entire season while striking out 53 for a 6-0 record and 0.81 ERA. With three games left in the regular season, Trinity is riding an 11 game win streak and is red hot at the perfect time. If they can continue to put up these video-game like numbers, look for the Shamrocks to have a good chance of making it out of the gauntlet 7th Region. Congratulations to 2027 Gray Davis on earning Prep Baseball KY's Pitcher of the Week award!
