With NJCAA postseason play well underway, we take a look at a handful of name-to-know uncommitted players from Fort Scott CC.

Reese Kortum

Sophomore LHP Reese Kortum has been a dominant presence on the mound this spring, anchoring the rotation as the Game 2 starter all season. Across 62.2 innings, Kortum has gone a perfect 7-0 with a 4.31 ERA, striking out 38 batters while allowing just a .271 opponent batting average. At 6’5” with a 6’7” wingspan, he creates uncomfortable angles for hitters, and nothing he throws comes in straight. His arsenal includes a heavy two-seam fastball, cutter, curveball, and changeup—all delivered with intent and confidence. A true strike-thrower and competitor, Kortum profiles as a durable winner with advanced pitchability and presence on the mound. He also excels off the field with a 3.70 GPA.
