Taking home the final regular season Player of the Week honors is 2026 Brady Marushi! The 6'0" 225lb backstop was getting it done at the plate this past week, totaling 13 bases on six hits, as well as drawing five walks and an HBP for an OBP of .750. Marushi scored twice and drove in five, including a pair of bombs for the Tomcats. Batting mostly in the leadoff spot as of late, Marushi now leads the team in almost every offensive statistic, including a whopping .511 AVG, making him one of just 21 players in the state batting over .500. The C/1B has drawn 26 walks, 20 RBI, and a remarkable 47 hits on the year with an 18 extra base hits, including five homers. These numbers have not only put him atop the Ashland roster, but Marushi finds himself on several statewide leaderboards, currently tied for 2nd in hits, 18th in AVG, tied-21st in HR, tied-11th in doubles, tied-12th in walks, and 22nd in SLG according to KHSAA statistics. The Tomcats might be getting hot at the right time in the 16th Region, as they have already clinched a spot in the regional tournament and have a big opportunity tonight to gain momentum as they face off against #14 Boyd County for a District 64 Title. Congratulations to Brady Marushi on taking home the final regular season weekly offensive award!
