Indiana Rankings Update: Class of 2026
May 20, 2025
As our spring season nears conclusion and a national update looms, our staff has adjusted our 2026 rankings to a list of 275 prospects to go into the summer with. Much of the list remains unchanged, with the update largely rewarding performers and continuing to elevate prospects that elevated in the winter and backed it this spring. Read on to find some notes on the class, and a group of twelve top 100 risers that see up arrows next to their name heading into the summer.
The Full List of 275 2026 Prospects
Also, our staff has gone in depth in the last few weeks with tons of 'cheat sheets' for uncommitted prospects in this class, which can be found at this link.
Top 10 Notes
+ The top 10 remains the same with nothing doing in the spring to merit a change as this group continues to pull ahead amongst their peers. The No. 1 remains C/OF Sean Dunlap (Tennessee), who currently has double digit extra-base hits and stolen bases for the #4 ranked team in the state. He is followed by OF Rob Czarniecki (Kentucky), the Future Games MVP from last summer, and then a tier of 3 arms in the following order: Hudson Devaughan (Alabama), Beckett Doane (Mississippi State), and Gannon Grant (Tennessee). All have performed this spring, both in our looks and statistically, as has the No. 1 SS in the class, Dylan Bowen (Oklahoma State). Bowen has begun to shown budding power for 3A No. 2 Hanover Central with 6 doubles, 5 triples, and 6 home runs to this point in the spring.
‘26 SS Dylan Bowen (@dylan_bowen00) dominated the weekend & helped 3A No. 1 Hanover Central to a pair of wins.

Best ball of the weekend for the @OSUBaseball recruit 👇 off the wall on a line for a double. #INSeries25 MVP front-runner 👍 https://t.co/OGtT2S7qMj pic.twitter.com/XvxkuuwqQk
Another performer, especially as of late, is No. 9 overall prospect and the No. 1 3B in the class, Aiden Reynolds (Indiana). Sandwhiched between our top-ranked infielders are a pair of RHP committed to Kentucky in Aiden Smith and Sammy Swank. Smith showed well in our look early this spring, while good reports have come from scouts who have seen Swank as he returns from a non-throwing related injury. Swank's high school teammate & our No. 10 prospect, 3B/OF Jake Winger (Indiana) rounds out the group. The All-State performer from '24 is backing it with another strong year for the Mavericks - hitting over .400 with double digit extra-base hit totals.

+ These ten remain atop the list as the highest-regarded prospects in the class, though our biggest riser follows close behind...
Stock 📈 this Spring
+ SS/P Caden Matusak (Michigan) moves to No. 11 overall after backing strong showings in the winter with a big spring for No. 4 Crown Point. The 6-foot-3, 195 pound young for class athlete has one of the higher ceilings of the bunch with a tooled-out profile that includes: a 95 infield arm, a 92 mph fastball, 104+ mph exit velocities, and above average foot speed (6.88). He's hitting over .400 with a 22/10 BB/K, fielding .970 in the middle, and has shown our staff a 92 mph look on the hill this spring.

+ LHP Troy Barrett continues to rise with a notable jump of 11 spots to No. 36 overall as the No. 5 LHP. He continues to post video game numbers for Chesterton, racking up 77 strikeouts to this point in the spring and pitching to a 1.18 ERA. His full report can be found in this article, but in short the ability to control three above average pitches is what we value most. He is a bit undersized, though the fastball velocity continues to tick - and his career stats against 4A competition are hard to argue: 13-2 record, 1.18 ERA, 160 K, 25 BB.
+ RHP Hayden Werner jumps 20 spots into the Top 50 (#48 overall, #7 uncommitted RHP) as he has been excellent for No. 3 Fishers and has shown as one of the top starting pitchers in the HCC this spring. The athletic, projectable, 6-foot-2+ frame and ability to control the baseball are valued most here. His hips and levers indicate more velocity on the way, and our staff had him up to 88 early this spring.

+ A pair of Mid-State Conference standouts see a rise in RHP Greyson Betts (#54 overall, #10 uncommitted RHP) and OF Tyler Denny (#56 overall, #5 uncommitted OF). Betts is 6-0 with 72 K in 42 IP and a 1.50 ERA for #20 Franklin Community, while Denny is hitting over .450 with 7 doubles, 5 home runs, and 30 stolen bases for #23 Mooresville. Both young for class prospects enjoy a 10+ spot jump in this update as they continue to blossom.

+ SS/2B Aiden Phillips has been a consensus staff favorite this spring for No. 7 Homestead. He is a physical, athletic, 6-foot-2 infielder with an aggressive right-handed swing that produced 100+ showcase exits and he pairs an above average offensive profile with quality actions on the dirt. To this point, he leads the Fort-Wayne area top-ranked Spartans in hitting with a .386 average and moves to No. 67 overall, and the No. 6 uncommitted MIF on our board.

+ C Max Shreiner of Elkhart is another one of our biggest winners in this update, moving inside the Top 75 as the No. 2 ranked uncommitted catcher in the class. The physical, 6-foot, right-handed hitting catcher is batting .508 and shares a tie for the state lead in Home Runs (9) to this point in the spring and is one of the more intriguing bats still available on the board...
‘26 C Max Shreiner (@MaxShreiner) is one of the state’s top performers this spring & an uncommitted name to follow.

+ A pair of outfielders rise into the top 75 also, in Jonathan Riley (McCutcheon) and Rykin Matthias (North Central). Both are slugging at a high rate this spring, each boasting 5 HR to this point, to back the loud bat speeds and exit velocities that they showed in showcase.

+ To round out our risers within the top 100 we have three helium righties that are climbing our board in this update: Peter Ward (Zionsville), Luke Gremelspacher (Guerin Catholic), and Quinton Brock (Warsaw). Ward is a projectable righty that we had up to 88 early in the spring with reports of even higher, while Gremelspacher offers a deceptive slot fastball up to 87 and a 26/5 K/BB this spring. Brock, also a standout infielder hitting over .400 for #22 Warsaw, looks the part of an athletic-moving summer helium candidate with feel for spin, plus an 84-87 mph fastball, and lands firmly inside the top 100 as we enter the summer.
