While there was no expansion to this rankings update, we did see plenty of movement throughout the Top 175. Today we want to highlight ten players that have made a jump inside the rankings. Included in this story are videos and insights into the movement for each player.

VA/DC Class of 2026: Spring Risers

Jaden Beyer OF / OF / DOMINION HIGH, VA / 2026

Wiry and athletic 5-foot-10 frame. Beyer has had a standout year for Dominion, delivering many multi-hit games throughout the season. He’s holding down center field with solid defense and flashed his speed on the basepaths, stealing several bases and showcasing his 6.61-second 60-yard dash speed. Beyer is one of the more intriguing uncommitted outfielders not only in NOVA, but in the state.

Ben Bosse C / 1B / Patriot High, VA / 2026

The physical 6-foot-0 is tearing it up in the box this high school season. He has shown solid bat-to-ball skills producing a .465 batting average and a .564 on base percentage in 55 plate appearances. In addition to those strong numbers, he also only has three strikeouts compared to eight walks. Behind the plate, he has caught 66 innings so far and has thrown out a few runners along the way.

Giacomo Franco LHP / OF / GRASSFIELD HIGH, VA / 2026

Franco has been a key contributor for Grassfield, making an impact both on the mound and at the plate. He’s thrown 29.2 innings so far, striking out 51 batters with a 0.472 ERA while allowing just 10 hits. To go along with his dominance on the mound, offensively, he leads the team with 21 hits and holds an on-base percentage just under .500. The Richmond commit continues to make gains not only in his stuff, but his in game production and consistent success.

Santiago Gomez SS / C / FRANK W. COX HIGH, VA / 2026

Gomez has an athletic 6-foot-1 frame and a slightly open, relaxed setup with a quick bat through the zone. Cox is having another promising season and Gomez has stepped up to the challenge. He is playing a solid shortstop and has made key contributions throughout the year. With a newly regained confidence, it is pouring over into his production for the Falcons this spring.

Noah Hummel LHP / 1B / CAPE HENRY COLLEGIATE SCHOOL, VA / 2026

The imposing 6-foot-4 Navy commit has impressed on the mound throughout the high school season. He leads Cape Henry in innings pitched with 32.1 and also holds the team’s lowest ERA at 1.515. His fastball has touched 88 mph on multiple occasions while we’ve been in attendance, but his most intriguing pitch is his changeup. With advanced shape and feel for a high school arm, it consistently gives hitters tough at-bats.

Daniel Nienaber RHP / 1B / Glen Allen , VA / 2026

Nienaber stands at a projectable 6-foot-4, and has shown impressive upside on the mound this season. He has flashed a high-quality fastball with carry through the zone, touching 94 mph. To go along with his fastball, he has successfully mixed in a slurve and an above-average changeup that gives hitters a tough look.

Evan Salapka RHP / 1B / Atlee, VA / 2026

Out of the bullpen for Atlee, Salapka has been nothing short of dominant. His fastball has been up to 90 mph and has collected swing and miss. While his innings total isn’t as high as some others on this list, his performance has been exceptional. In 13.1 innings pitched, he’s allowed just 2 hits and 1 walk, racking up 27 strikeouts with a 0.00 ERA and an opponent batting average of just .047.

Aidan Spagna C / OF / INDEPENDENCE HIGH, VA / 2026

At the time of writing this 'Spring Risers' story, Independence is at an undefeated 16-0, and Spagna has been a key contributor both offensively and defensively. Behind the plate, he’s done a solid job managing the pitching staff and shows natural hands with quick exchanges. In the box, he has a rhythmic setup with a quick, uphill barrel path and has tallied two home runs on the year. Spagna is one of the more complete uncommitted catchers remaning in this 2026 VA/DC class.

Landon Turman LHP / OF / ABINGDON HIGH, VA / 2026

The 6-foot-2 East Carolina commit is another player on this list that has been a difference-maker this season as a two-way.  Offensively, he’s delivered a few multi-hit games for Abingdon, playing an important role in the Falcons’ successful season. What stood out most to us was his performance on the mound during the Commonwealth Classic tournament. In the semifinal win, Turman threw a complete game, allowing just two earned runs, walking none, and striking out 14. He continues his ascent up the 2026 class, after making a big initial splash last spring.

Kason Wagner RHP / 3B / Miller School , VA / 2026

Wagner is a competitor who simply gets outs. Throughout the season, he’s filled up the strike zone with a high strike percentage and has consistently located his fastball to the glove side. He also shows the confidence to throw his breaking ball in a variety of counts. As the season nears its end, Wagner holds an ERA under 1.00, all while throwing versus the toughest teams that Miller School has faced all spring.
