Today we release a late spring update to the 2026 class. This update will have the class holding at the Top 175, with the next expansion coming in late summer after our tournaments and showcase events. Below we highlight a few players that our staff had an opportunity to gather evaluations on this spring during the high school season.
There were seven new players moving into the Top 175, as well as plenty of movement throughout the rankings. Today we highlight a handful of players in the 51-175 range.
*Any stats inserted were accurate at the time the story was written.*
+ Brody Comparto - RHP - Great Bridge HS - Uncommitted
The athletic two-way talent has impressed the handful of times our staff has seen him this spring, most notably his outing versus Hickory a few weeks ago. Comparto was up to 90 mph, held upper 80's well, and showed two breaking balls to round out his arsenal. He is an athletic mover that works quick and attacks the strike zone. Probably more arm over position at the time, but the athleticism and versatility still carry some intrigue.
+ Tyler Ruhl - RHP - EC Glass HS - Uncommitted
Ruhl has been outstanding for Glass this spring. Worked in the mid-upper 80's when our staff saw him in early April and effectively used two secondary pitches. As of earlier this month, the Glass right hander had not given up an earned run in nearly forty innings pitched and has an almost 9:1 K/BB ratio. Ruhl has climbed more than a dozen spots since supplanting himself as one of the better uncommitted arms in the 2026 class. He is athletic, has proportional strength, and is very versatile in his skillset. Will be one to follow closely this summer.
+ Gavin Genovese - C - Gainesville HS - Uncommitted
We have talked about this at length, but Genovese is the poster child for massive gains in terms of personal development. Physically, athletically, skills, etc. Across the board, Genovese has made significant improvements, as he has displayed to our staff this spring. He has moved from unranked, to #110, to the mid 90's, to now making his way into the Top 75. While listed a catcher, positionally there are still some questions (not concerns) as to where he fits long term. While he has not spent any time behind the plate, he has shown advancements in his athleticism and ability to defend at third. Long term is may be more corner outfield or first base, I would not necessarily rule out catching just yet, due to his arm strength, athleticism, and frame.
+ Josh Weppner - RHP - Battlefield HS - Uncommitted
Winner. That is who Weppner is when he is on the mound. While it is not crazy overpowering stuff, he is an arm that is going to attack hitters, throw strikes, and get outs. Will usually average around one strikeout per inning, limits walks, and just limits big innings from happening. As an arm, if you are able to do some of those things, you will win a lot of games, and that is where he is. A few weeks back, when our staff was in attendance, Weppner worked in the 86-88 range and threw a slider and changeup in the mid 70's for strikes. Weppner makes a move of nearly fifty spots and lands inside the Top 100.
