2025 Five Star Performance Weekend: Quick Hits
May 30, 2025
TEXAS - Over the last weekend, we hosted the Five Star Performance Scout Weekend at Hallsville HS. The weekend kicked off on Saturday morning with a showcase for all position players where they ran a 60, threw from defensive positions and took BP on the field. After the workout, we moved into gameplay where the pitchers' TrackMan data was recorded. We got to see plenty of quality players, including some fresh faces that made themselves known. We have already released a statistical analysis, highlighting the top statistical performers from the event.
Today, we will conclude our post-event rollout with our scouting takeaways from the event.
QUICK HITS
Jackson Wilcox
Position: RHP
School: Magnolia (2027)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Jackson Wilcox has been turning heads lately. His fastball sits 87-90 mph, topping at 91, and has some late life that makes it tough to square up. His slider (75-79 mph) is a solid pitch, and he also flashed a nice changeup (76-80 mph) that has a chance to be at least average. The 2027 righty has definitely put on some strength, and it’s showing in his stuff.
He’s got a starter’s profile with two solid secondaries that should only get better as he develops. Wilcox has been on our radar since the Underclass State Games, and he’s someone to keep an eye on as we head into the summer. As he adds more consistency to his game, look for his stock to keep rising.

Caden Rhodes had a strong showing both in the workout and in game action. Behind the plate, he posted consistent low 1.9 pop times and topped out at 80 mph with his arm, which is above average for the position. At the plate, he showed some juice with a triple and showed he can handle quality pitching.
He’s an athlete behind the dish, moves well, and has solid arm strength that translates into a strong defensive profile. With more development, he’s only going to get better and should make a name for himself this summer. Rhodes is a guy to watch as he continues to grow.
