The new No. 1 is Lubin Rincon (Shadow Creek, SS), a smooth left-handed hitter who’s had a monster spring — hitting over .500 at the 6A level while flashing elite bat speed, zone control, and gap-to-gap power. He’s a true shortstop with instincts and leadership traits that have stood out all season long.
Right behind him is Lash Henderson (Prestonwood, OF), one of the most electric athletes in the country. There’s not much Henderson can’t do on a baseball field — he runs, throws, hits for power, and plays with an edge that elevates those around him. His tools are loud, and the game comes easy.
Drake Hawpe (Liberty Christian, OF) holds strong at No. 3 and continues to show one of the most advanced hit tools in the class, with a strong frame and blossoming power potential.
Pitchers dominate the top 10, led by three arms that have already touched 96 mph:
-
George Ferguson (Abilene, RHP) — big frame, big fastball, and developing secondaries that continue to sharpen
-
Quinn Fitzpatrick (Stratford, RHP) — power righty with a heavy heater and a competitive mound presence
-
Grant Sperandio (Memorial, RHP, Texas commit) — big arm with feel for three pitches and elite upside
Joining them is Tyler Scarborough (Lovejoy, RHP), who’s now been up to 94 mph and continues to trend up with a clean delivery and projectable frame.
Jake Ivey (Gunter, LHP) adds a strong left-handed presence in the top 10 with pitchability and size, while Ethan Armbruster (Westlake, C/RHP) has solidified himself as the top two-way player in the state. His athleticism behind the plate and on the mound gives him rare versatility and impact potential.
Sebastian Castillo (Byron Nelson, SS) closes out the top 10 — a steady, instinctual defender who brings confidence and polish on both sides of the ball.
The movement doesn't stop there — this update also features big jumps from guys like Ryder Renfro (Kingwood, RHP), who climbed 36 spots into the top 15, and Max Mangum (Wildcatters, RHP), who made a leap of 55 spots to No. 16 after flashing loud stuff and a fastball climbing into the 90s.
From high-end arms to premium athletes in the middle of the field, the 2027 class continues to impress — and we’re just getting started.
