This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.

Cooper Benjamin is a left-handed hurler from Marin Catholic High School. Standing 5-foot-11, Benjamin is ranked as the eighth best LHP in all of California.

The southpaw also shows potential two-way promise, showing flashes as a potential threat at the plate, as well as playing sound defense at any OF position.

Benjamin has shot up the rankings, moving up 116 spots after an extremely impressive sophomore season.

For Marin Catholic, Benjamin earned five saves across ten total appearances. Across 29.1 innings, Benjamin fanned 51 batters, only allowing 12 knocks.

At the 2025 NorCal ProCase, Benjamin stood out as one of the best prospects of the day.

Benjamin’s fastball reached a max velocity of 85.4 MPH. 

His curveball generated the highest average spin rate of the day, registering at a whopping 2337 RPM. 

Benjamin’s slider also impressed, registering the second best slider spin rate on the day, averaging 2352 RPM.

With an impressive four pitch mix and ability to locate the ball efficiently, Benjamin is a great addition to an already talented Team NorCal pitching staff.
