Uncommitted Spotlight: '26 Maximus Pena

The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Arizona staff has hosted several events featuring talented uncommitted prospects. So far, we’ve completed two of three Summer ID events, showcasing standout players who earned invites to the Future Games in July. We also wrapped up both Top Prospect Games, which included many high-quality players from the classes of 2026 and 2027, with more Future Games invites handed out.
Our staff has had eyes on hundreds of players this summer, including an in-depth look at those who performed at our events. As the summer continues, we will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted prospects in Arizona who made strong impressions, with our Uncommitted Spotlight Series.
Today, we continue highlighting our summer standouts with ‘26 Maximus Pena. At both the Glendale Summer ID and the ‘26 Top Prospect Games, Max caught our staff’s eye with his all-around versatility. His athleticism stood out across the board as he posted a 6.83 60-yard time and showed the ability to handle both the infield and outfield. He added an 88 mph top infield velocity, flashing signs of a live arm. At the plate, the left-handed hitter has an aggressive swing and continues to show some upside with the bat. As he adds strength, you can expect the numbers to climb, and he brings a clear gamer mentality to the field.

Hit: LHH. Athletic stance, slight bend in the knees, slightly open. Sinks down into legs with load. Hits from a strong spot. Line drive contact to middle of the field. Simple/short swing with direct and flat bat path.

Body: 5-7, 152-pounds.
Hit: LHH. Narrow stance with a balanced base and a deliberate leg lift to initiate the stride. Uses direct, quick hands that create a compact, efficient swing path. 66.9 mph bat speed with 16 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 85.2 mph. 343' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-88 mph. OF-87 mph. Delivers with a quick 3/4 arm action that can affect accuracy at times.
Defense: Displays quick hands and feet with smooth actions, looking comfortable and confident in the infield.
