Wladyka Baseball and Baseball Warehouse Scout Day: Quick Hits

On Wednesday, June 11th, the Prep Baseball New Jersey staff traveled down to the North Brunswick Community Park in North Brunswick, NJ for the Wladyka Baseball and Baseball Warehouse Scout Day.

This event is always a great opportunity for us to get our eyes on the talented players within the Wladyka and Baseball Warehouse orginizations and this year's showcase proved to be a successful.

We wanted to take the time to highlight a number of the standout players from the event in a Quick Hits story, found below.


POSITION PLAYERS

OF Jake Dolan (Ridge, 2026) currently ranked No. 56 in the state's '26 class, Dolan had a impressive showing at the event, started the day running a 6.76 60-yard dash. Continued his success during BP, the right-hander peaked his EV at 100.2 mph with an average of 85.1 mph, also had a max distance of 381'. Dolan had a clean defensive round and tossed 88 mph from the OF. 

1B Robert Roma (Edison, 2026) has a physical 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame with juice to the pullside. The left-handed hitter is currently ranked No. 116 in the state's '26 class. Roma had a loud BP round at the event, with a max EV of 98.3 mph, average EV of 93.2 mph, and a max distance of 366'. Also, had a 90% hard hit rate (balls hit 90+ mph). Rome flashed bat speed throughout the round and is a strong framed prospect to follow. 

C Mason Franklin (Wallkill, 2026) looked to be one of the top backstops from the event. Franklin was on the barrel throughout his round of BP reaching a top EV of 98.3 mph with an average of 91 mph, and flashed some bat speed. Defensively, tossed 77 mph from the chute. 

C James Musco (Chester Academt (NY), 2026) stands 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, had an impressive showing during BP, the switch hitter has the ability to hit to all fields for power with smooth actions. Musco peaked at 94 mph EV with an average of 86 mph and a max distance of 363'. Defensively impressed as well, flashed pop times from 1.92-2.08 and ran a 7.12 60-yard time. 

INF Johnny Velez (Union, 2026) had a quality showing on both sides. During BP, Velez had a top EV of 93 mph with a max distance of 356'. Defensively, was smooth with a strong arm, tossed 87 mph across the INF. 

3B Matthew Kong (Fair lawn, 2026) currently ranked No. 188 in the state's '26 class, Kong was near the top of the leaderboards for multiple stats from the event, led the event in INF velocity, tossing 88 mph across the diamond. Offensively had the third best peak EV at 99.3 mph, had a average EV of 89 mph, and a max distance of 360'. Kong continues to impress in front of out staff.

OF Grant Lorentzen (John F. Kennedy, 2026) measures 6-foot-1, 170-pounds broke out at the event with an overall impressive showing. The outfielder ran a sub seven second 60-yard time (6.98) and tossed the third best OF velocity of the day (85 mph). At the plate, peaked at 91 mph EV and flashed line drives throughout the round. A prospect of follow this summer. 

OF Matthew Jelleme (Metuchen, 2026) is a smooth swinging left-hander, stands an athletic 6-foot, 160-pounds. Jelleme ran a 7.08 60-yard dash and had exit velocities up to 90.5 mph with some pullside juice. The outfielder flashed athletic actions and tossed 80 mph from his positon. 

TWO-WAY PLAYERS

OF/RHP Stanley Madera (Franklin, 2026) continues to breakout as a two-way prospect, currently ranked No. 174 in the state's '26 class, Madera showed well all-around at the event. On the mound, worked a three pitch mix, with the fastball 82-86 T87 mph with an average spin rate of 2248 rpm w/ sink, a curveball for strikes at 72 mph, and a slider at 71 mph. At the plate, Madera was on the barrel, flashed a loose and easy swing, had a max EV of 98.4 mph (average EV of 89.3), and a max distance of 373'. Madera had the top OF velocity at the event, tossing 89 mph. 

PITCHERS

LHP Christopher Joy (Marlboro, 2026) had one of the most impressive bullpens of the evening. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound southpaw showed off all three pitches during his bullpen, a fastball up to 86 mph, sitting 84-85 mph with an average IVB of 22.4 in. and a spin rate average of 2086. Also, flashed a curveball in the upper-60s with a spin rate average of 2390 rpm. Finally flahsed a changeup at 75-76 mph with 15 in. of HM. 

RHP Lucas Malamug (Metuchen, 2026) currently ranked No. 149 in the states '26 class, Malamug had a loud bullpen at the event. The 6-foot, 187-pound right-hander worked his fastball 83-85 with sink, a slider at 70-73 mph with an average spin rate of 2221 rpm, and a changeup at 72-73 mph with avg. HM of 15.5 in. 

RHP Jace Loeb (Glen Ridge, 2026) put together a quality bullpen, stands 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Loeb has three pitches in his repertoire, including fastball, curveball, and changeup. The right-hander throws the fastball at 81-84 T85 mph with an average of 16 in. of HM., curveball is thrown 67-68 mph with feel, and the changeup is 67-68 mph.

RHP Brady Meyer (Old Bridge, 2027) is a high spin, incoming junior that impressed in his PB Showcase debut. Meyer threw a fastball 81-84 T85 mph with an average spin rate of 2477 (2506 max), a curveball at 67-70 mph with an average spin rate of 2609 (2768 max), and a changeup at 73-75 mph with 17.4 in. of avg. HM and a 100% zone %. A young arm to follow in the '27 class. 

RHP Jake Wall (Wood-Ridge, 2026) had a loud bullpen at the event. Currently ranked No. 183 in the state's 2026 class, Wall threw a fastball 82-84 T85 mph with an avg. spin rate of 2298 rpm, previously has been up to 88 mph. Also, used a curveball at 67-68 mph for strikes, and threw in a changeup at 70-72 mph with an avg. of 17 in. of HM.
