Uncommitted Spotlight: '26 RHP Jacques Berube

The summer is in full swing, and the Prep Baseball Arizona staff has hosted several events featuring talented uncommitted prospects. So far, we’ve completed three of four Summer ID events, showcasing standout players who earned invites to the Future Games in July. We also wrapped up both Top Prospect Games, which included many high-quality players from the classes of 2026 and 2027, with more Future Games invites handed out.

Our staff has had eyes on hundreds of players this summer, including an in-depth look at those who performed at our events. As the summer continues, we will be highlighting some of the top uncommitted prospects in Arizona who made strong impressions, with our Uncommitted Spotlight Series.

Today, we continue highlighting our summer standouts with a look at '26 RHP Jacques Berube. At the Peoria Summer ID, Berube stood out with one of the most complete arsenals at the event. He ran his fastball up to 90.8 mph, which was the top velocity of the day, and held 90 multiple times with lively arm-side run. His curveball showed solid depth and he kept it down in the zone consistently. His best secondary was a changeup that sat 78 - 82 mph, featuring up to 21 inches of horizontal movement with late depth. He also mixed in a slider at 72 to 74 mph that has the potential to become a true wipeout pitch as he adds velocity. As Berube heads into his senior year, he has proven to be a prospect college coaches should be following closely.
