Our staff announced the 'Prep Baseball MD All-State teams' last week, and this week, we highlight the Newcomer of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Player of the Year. Next up, we take a look at an arm that takes home the Pitcher of the Year award for the 2025 spring season.

PITCHER OF THE YEAR
2025 LHP Nolan Ross (Dickinson College || Walter Johnson HS)
In a county dominated by top-end arms, it's hard to argue any player was more dominant than Ross on the bump in 2025. Leading Walter Johnson to their first state title in program history, the Dickinson College commit worked to a 0.73 ERA, giving up just 19 hits across 47 innings with an absurd 82 strikeouts, breaking the Montgomery County record for most K's in a season since pitch limitations were introduced. Navigating through arguably the toughest division across the state, Ross was dominant against lethal lineups all spring long, and the ability to hoist the 4A State Title was a perfect culmination to one of the more impressive seasons on the bump that we have seen in some time.
