Tampa Summer ID: Quick Hits

The Tampa Summer ID took place Tuesday, June 3 at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, FL. The event featured players from the 2026-2029 classes participating in a pro-style workout followed by bullpens in front of the Prep Baseball Florida Scouting Staff.

Today, we will share quick notes on the standouts from Tuesday's event.

Catching Standouts

The catcher group at the Tampa Summer ID was a standout position group. Six catchers had a 2.01 or better pop time, with two sub-1.90 pops. 2027 Jameson Moan led the event with a 1.85 pop while 2027 Clay Eichlin was right behind him with a 1.86. 2027 Easton Stegbauer was clean and accurate at a 1.93, and 2027 Kaden Kenny threw strikes to second at 1.95.


Power Bats

Power was on display at Saint Leo on Tuesday as seven hitters registered a max exit velocity over 98 mph. Leading the way was 2027 Dylan Montrowl who hit 101.3 mph and had a distance of 377 feet. Next was Landis Pickett at 100.2 and Reid Dadic at 100.1 mph. Behind them were Clay Eichlin (98.4), Desmond Taylor (98.4), Kaden Kenny (98.1), and Bryce Besece (98.0).


Athletes

2026 Desmond Taylor showed above-average athleticism at the Tampa Summer ID. He led the event in both the 60 yard dash and vertical jump. Taylor ran a 6.68 60 and jumped 28.5 inches. Dylan Montrowl had the second highest vertical at 28 inches. While Ashton Cox jumped 26.2 inches.


Defensive Standouts

2027 SS Lucas Farrar was the biggest defensive standout of the day. Big arm from the outfield and from shortstop at 96 and 94 mph. Rangy defender with smooth actions on the dirt. 2026 Reid Dadic showed off a big arm in the outfield as well up to 91 mph. 2027 Nolan Hartley showed quick feet and soft hands at shortstop.


Pitchers

2027 Lucas Farrar carried his big arm to the mound where he led the event, up to 88.4 mph. 2027 Landis Pickett impressed with a three-pitch mix for strikes. Fastball up to 87.3 mph showed sink and the slider had sweeping action. 2027 Dylan Montrowl got up to 86.9 mph while Reid Dadic hit 86.6.


Rising Stars

The Tampa ID saw a talented group of Rising Stars in the 2029 class in attendance. Kike Vinegas is physically advanced and was strong in bp with an exit velocity of 89.4 mph. Charles Cassino had a smooth swing and an 89.7 mph exit velocity. Zakir Sadiki led all Rising Stars with a 92.2 exit velocity. Bryce Hayes had strong bp rounds and showed a solid arm. Noah Rivera also had a solid arm from the outfield and a smooth left-handed swing at the plate. Cody Kovash showed some pitchability and future upside on the mound.
