Quick Hits: North Louisiana Summer ID
June 20, 2025
Ruston, LA - On Tuesday, June 17 2025, the Prep Baseball Louisiana staff traveled to Louisiana Tech University, to host our third open event of the summer, which featured over 60 prospects from the 2026-2028 classes. Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Vald Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball and Blast Motion. Pitchers finished the day off by throwing a bullpen with Trackman Baseball to receive all of their data and metrics. Below, we take a look at some of the top performers from Tuesday's event.

TOP PERFORMERS
Jackson Lee OF / LHP / Ruston, LA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 44 / POS: 11
The 5-11, 165 lbs. right-handed hitting outfielder had a big spring for the Bearcats that earned him 1st Team All-State honors. Lee is a really good athlete, as evidenced by his event-best 6.66 laser-timed 60 on Tuesday. He also showed an accurate and above average arm from the outfield up to 88 mph, which is a +4 mph jump from his previous best. At the plate, he starts in a slightly open and athletic stance and takes an inside out path through the baseball with level extension. He was on the barrel often and sprayed line drives to all fields with exit velocities up to 94.5 mph. Lee is a consistent performer with some tools, which is why he's one of the top uncommitted outfielders in the state.

Dalen Powell OF / SS / Ruston, LA / 20286-2, 188 lbs. athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong lower-half. Powell is another really good athlete coming out of Ruston. He posted the second best laser-timed 60 of the day at a 6.74, and took a good round of batting practice on Tuesday too. Powell starts in an upright stance and uses a quicker toe-tap load to get to center before using quick hands to take a direct path to contact while staying flat through extension. He produced hard line drive contact from gap-to-gap with a max exit velocity of 94.4 mph.

Trey Scarborough RHP / 1B / St. Mary's Catholic, LA / 2026Rankings StateRank: 46 / POS: 14
Lean and wiry 6-0, 165 lbs. frame with a ton of room to add strength. The St. Mary's Catholic product had one of the better bullpens on Tuesday. Starting in the middle of the rubber, he used a smooth and repeatable delivery with a clean arm action to release the ball from a 3/4 slot. He located his 84-85 mph fastball well to both sides of the plate with spin rates up to 2,456 rpm. His 77-80 mph slider flashed short & break, and he also showed feel for a firmer 78-80 mph changeup with arm-side fade.

Aidan Adams 3B / RHP / Ruston Junior High School, LA / 2028Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 2
Projectable 6-4, 192 lbs. frame that will fill out as he matures. Adams performed well at the Prep Baseball Texas 5 Star Scout Weekend at the end of May and was a recent riser in our 2028 State Rankings update. He's a good overall athlete and posted a respectable 7.16 laser-timed 60 on Tuesday. Adams showed a good arm across the infield up to 85 mph with developing hands, footwork, and actions. At the plate, he starts in an upright stance and uses a simple load and stride. He creates good separation and showed present bat speed with a fluid path to contact and through extension. There's some things to work on at the plate, as he's far from a finished product, and he's got a chance to be a really good prospect once it all comes together.
