On May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Future Games Tryout at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. This was an invite only event and it gave our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

40 players made their way to Mater Dei HS and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at the top overall prospects from the event.

TOP OVERALL PROSPECTS

1. Zion Martinez, Norco High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B Controlled LHH who flashes smooth defensive actions up the middle.
Body: 5-8, 162.3 pounds. Compact frame, athletic, present strength throughout.
Hit: LHH. Tall and relaxed stance, loose, short stride, balanced finish. Easy swing, longer path with full extension, level. 70.5 mph bat speed with 15g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 mph max exit velocity (81.2 avg.); 338-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 82.00 mph. Longer circle with some whip, 3/4 slot. Dart thrower..
Defense: pop time range; Soft feet with a quiet approach to the ball, steady hands.
Athletic Testing: 7.23 runner in the 60-yard dash.
