2025 Summer Kickoff Games: Quick Hits

On June 3rd, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff hosted this year's Summer Kickoff Games at All-Star Park in Lakewood. This event featured ~50 prospects from the 2026-2029 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players in attendance, and during gameplay. Today, we continue our post-event coverage with this 'Quick Hits' story.

Jackson Bernosky C / 3B / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 3
Bernosky has been a big riser over the last few months as the versatile athlete showcased impressive stuff in games this spring, and during this event. At 5'11' & 170 Ibs, Bernosky holds some present strength and twitch while actively developing overall. Bernosky has the ability to play all over the field and comes with some advanced tools such as his 87 mph infield throwing velocity, a 1.88 top pop time with an 80 mph catcher throwing velocity, a 98 mph top exit velocity, and a 7.01 60-yard dash time. During gameplay we have seen Bernosky with some pop to all fields and a mature approach in the box. Bernosky will be representing Team Colorado for this year's premier national event in Georgia at the Prep Baseball Future Games.

Brady Waddell SS / RHP / Rapid City Stevens, SD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Waddell is a top-ranked prospect within South Dakota who attended this year's Colorado Summer Kickoff Games. The to-be junior presented a fastball over 86 mph (~2000rpm) in this event with a curveball and slider combination he spun around 2400rpm. Waddell has an easy and repeatable delivery with some pitchability and feel for all three pitches. The 6-foot & 162 Ibs frame on Waddell bodes well for his future development and ceiling. Waddell's toolset overall also comes with a 90 mph infield throwing velocity and a 93 mph top exit velocity with the bat.

Silas Meuli OF / 1B / Legend, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Meuli is one of Colorado's top uncommitted left-handed bats with plenty of higher level twitch and athleticism. We have seen Meuli down to a 6.63 60-yard dash time in events to go with a max exit velocity of 98.3 mph. During games, Meuli consistently takes quality at-bats with the ability to ambush pitchers, make a difference on the basepaths and in center field. In a market searching for athletic left-handed bats, Meuli certainly fits the bill.

Andrew Henderson RHP / 3B / Grand Junction, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 13
Henderson comes in at 6'6'' & 238 Ibs with plenty of active strength and feel on the diamond. During the games, Henderson posted a fastball up to 86 mph with a quality curveball, slider, and changeup combination. We have seen Henderson up to 89 mph in the past and he also comes with over a 101 mph top exit velocity and an 87 mph infield throwing velocity. This spring, Henderson pitched 23 innings with 35 Ks (2.43 ERA) and hit .429 with a 1.201 OPS for Grand Junction HS.

Cody Becker RHP / 1B / Woodland Park, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 96 / POS: 26
At 6'5'' & 186 Ibs, Becker is a prospect to keep an eye on as he presented a fastball over 85 mph during the games. The four-seamer on Becker sat from 83-85 mph with around 2300rpm of spin. Becker also presented a capable changeup and curveball mix from 71-74 mph while his breaking ball came in with around 2400rpm of spin.

CJ Mullen 3B / C / The Classical Academy, CO / 2026Mullen is coming off of a strong spring where he belted 7 homeruns for his 3A program. The uncommitted to-be senior looked great overall in this event thanks to a 98.1 top exit velocity, an 88 mph infield throwing velocity, 75 mph catcher throwing velocity with a top pop time of 1.82, and a 6.9 60-yard dash time. Mullen is 5'11'' & 166 Ibs with some twitchy and athletic actions that are actively developing right now and producing on the field.

Erik Jacobson OF / Rocky Mountain, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 4
Jacobson posted the fastest 60-yard dash time at this event with a time of 6.72. The uncommitted Rocky Mountain HS outfielder comes with plenty of athleticism out of a high-waisted projectable 5'11'' frame. Jacobson showcased quite well with the bat in this event (96.4 mph top exit velocity) with some quick hands out of a simple approach. We also saw the outfielder get up to an 84 mph throwing velocity with some clean actions.

Deion Cesario-Scott 1B / 3B / Regis Jesuit, CO / 2026Rankings StateRank: 122 / POS: 9
Deion comes in at 6'4'' with a strong left-handed swing and plenty of projectable power. During the games, Deion was up to a 96 mph top exit velocity with a max batted ball distance of 360 ft. The swing on Deion is compact and connected with plenty of easy pop. Worth a close follow this summer and fall.

Carson Reffel OF / OF / Legend High School, CO / 2027Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 2
Reffel is a highly ranked 2027 outfielder who comes with a 6.90 60-yard dash time and over a 95 mph top exit velocity. The Legend HS athlete takes an aggressive cut through the zone with the ability to launch and stay on plane. Reffel already has some twitchy movements with active strength and is certainly one to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop.

Mason Clark SS / OF / Fossil Ridge, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Clark is a rising underclassman who posted a .343 average in a part-time role with his 5A Fossil Ridge program this spring. The switch-hitting athlete can play all over the field and already has some advanced tools to add to his game. During this event, Clark posted a 6.91 60-yard dash time, over a 90 mph exit velocity from each side of the plate, and an 82 mph throwing velocity. Clark has the makings to be a top-ranked prospect in his class, and should be a close follow at this summer's Super Sophomore Games in Kansas City.

Nixon Sikes RHP / 3B / Fort Collins, CO / 2028Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 3
Sikes is another youngster who has a bright future ahead. At 5'11'' & 193 Ibs with some active strength, we have already seen Sikes post a 91 mph top exit velocity from the left-side. Sikes also presented a fastball up to 80 mph during the games with a breaking ball from 67-70 mph.
