Team Carolina Summer ID: Wilmington - Event Recap

Prep Baseball was in Wilmington, NC on June 3rd for the Team Carolina Summer ID, held at South Brunswick High School. These events serve as a crucial evaluation platform, giving players an opportunity to update their Prep Baseball profile with verified stats, advanced analytics, video, and scout notes — all gathered during a pro-style workout.

Athletes participating in a Summer ID also become eligible for future invitations to Team Carolina's premier events, including the Future Games, Super Sophomore Games, and Top Prospect Games. These invite-only showcases feature the top talent from across North Carolina, drawing attention from college coaches and professional scouts nationwide.

Workout Overview

The day began with laser-timed 60-yard dashes using the VALD timing system, which tracked athletes' sprint metrics at the 10-yard, 30-yard, and 60-yard marks. The system also provided speed-based insights into acceleration and top-end run performance.

Batting practice followed, with players taking live rounds while TrackMan recorded exit velocity, launch angle, and distance. BLAST Motion sensors captured pre-contact swing metrics, offering deeper analysis of each player’s mechanics and swing efficiency.

Next, players rotated through defensive evaluations at their primary positions:

Catchers showcased pop times to second base, while velocity and release efficiency were closely monitored.
Outfielders threw from right field to home, allowing scouts to evaluate arm strength, accuracy, and carry.
Infielders took reps from third base, shortstop, and first base, fielding a range of ground balls to assess footwork, hands, and throwing metrics.

The workout concluded with bullpen sessions, where pitchers threw full arsenals in a live setting. TrackMan provided data on velocity, spin rates, movement, and pitch sequencing, delivering a complete picture of each pitcher’s current profile and projection.

All players were filmed throughout the day, with video footage and analytics being added to their Prep Baseball profiles. These updates allow scouts and coaches to assess player development over time and provide a lasting resource for evaluation and recruitment.

Switch hitter with some natural loft from each side of the plate. Similar bat speed and barrel feel with a bit better power from the left side. Solid athlete with projection left. Ran a 7.24 on the laser.

Cameron Copley SS / RHP / Voyager Academy, NC / 2026

Lean frame that will handle strength gains in the coming years. Solid strength from the right side. Flat through the zone. Good rhythm loading down with the hands. Slight pull emphasis. 94mph exit velocity. Ran 7.28.

Fisher Goodwin 3B / 1B / North Brunswick, NC / 2026

Strength from the left side in a phyiscal frame. Exit velocity peaked at 102.5mph. Max distance at 392 feet during BP. Strength over quickness but the quickness has made considerable jumps in the past year. Continues to polish his game and is showing a potential tool to follow with his power.

Jaden Gore 2B / West Brunswick, NC / 2026

Good athlete that plays with great rhythm. Checked a bunch of boxes on the day. Sure handed with an athletic exchange and release. Right handed hitter sprayed the ball all over the field, showing strength to the pull side gap. Ran 4.02 thirty yard split with his peak run speed approaching 21mph.

Grady Sotriffer SS / 2B / South Brunswick, NC / 2026

Great day throughout the workout. Tools stoodout throughout the day, running 6.84 on the laser with a peak run speed above 24mph. Left handed hitter showed excellent barrel feel with a pull side emphasis during this BP setting. Max exit velocity of 93.5mph. Actions and arm carry suggest he will have the chance to stick in the middle of the field and handle the left side.

Hudson Southerland 2B / OF / NEW HANOVER, NC / 2026

Right handed hitter. Flat with good barrel awareness. Max exit velocity of 91.4mph. Worked gap to gap with a line drive approach. Ran 6.87 with a 3.95 thirty yard split.

Dylan Stacks RHP / 3B / North Brunswick, NC / 2026

Rankings StateRank: 59 / POS: 24

Dual follow continues to show strength in the box with a big arm on the bump. Multiple 100mph or higher exit velocities, peaking at 104.2mph with a top distance of 398 feet. Works for extension. Intent with his approach and bat speed.

Cooper Wilson 3B / RHP / West Brunswick high school, NC / 2026

Lean frame with strength present. Right handed hitter works flat with a loose, whippy barrel. Good bat speed and with solid barrel feel. Exit velocity peaked at 94mph.

2027 Grads

Kannon Huffman OF / C / Southwest High, NC / 2027

Potential high value utility player. Can catch and throw with pop times ranging 1.94-2.06 while running 6.87 in the sixty. Length in the frame. Body will continue to mature and add strength. Right handed hitter is flat through the zone with whip in the barrel.

Wyatt Lytle C / OF / Pro5 Academy, NC / 2027

Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 4

Impressive workout both behind the plate and in the box. Pop times saw arm velocity peak at 85mph from the crouch. Right handed hitter has natural loft with strength and quickness present. Exit velo peaked at 102mph. Peppered the pull side gap throughout his two rounds of BP.

Antonio Parrino OF / RHP / Wake Forest, NC / 2027

Average frame will continue to add strength. Has quickness. Ran 6.86 with a 3.88 thirty yard split. Left handed hitter is loose with solid rhythm. Exit velocity peaked at 96.6mph.

Robbie Sutton 3B / RHP / Topsail, NC / 2027

Strength present in a 5-foot-11, 170 pound frame. Ran a 4.10 thirty yard split. Right handed hitter used the entire field with a gap to gap approach. Level, produced line drives with solid barrel feel.

Wesley Wilson OF / LHP / West Brunswick High, NC / 2027

Youthful look and still maturing into his 5-foot-10, 160 pound frame. Left handed hitter. Peak exit velocity of 89.2mph. Worked inside the baseball staying in the middle of the field. Showed strength into the oppo gap.

2028 Grads

Jack Cunningham OF / RHP / Eastern Carolina Academy, NC / 2028

Lean, long, athletic frame. Still maturing into the frame. Showed quickness running a 6.98 on the laser with a 3.93 thirty yard split. Right handed hitter. Long arms. Raw rhythm but showed strength off the barrel. Peak exit velocity at 92.7mph.

Kaleb Faulders 2B / OF / West Brunswick High, NC / 2028

Average frame. Young, youthful look. Right handed hitter worked the middle of the field. Solid rhythm. Looks for extension. Max exit velocity of 88mph.

Tyler Garnett LHP / OF / Northside High, NC / 2028

Left handed hitter with solid bat speed. Worked for extension with a slight pull side emphsis. Exit velocity peaked at 87.9mph. Loose with solid hands through the zone.

Gavin Gray OF / RHP / West Forsyth, NC / 2028

Right handed hitting outfielder has strength in the build at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds. Airs out his swing, gliding onto the front side, working flat and getting extension. Exit velocity peaked at 98.7mph. Ran 7.17 with a 4.05 thirty yard split.

Lean, athletic frame. Peak run speed close to 23mph. Should see his sixty time continue to come down as he can handle his top end speed for a longer distance. Right handed hitter worked the middle of the field showing an ability to back spin balls into the oppo gap.
