Arizona Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits (2026's)

Phoenix, AZ – On Tuesday, June 3, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff hosted the first Top Prospect event of the summer, featuring 45 of the top uncommitted players from the 2026 class. Held at Grand Canyon University, the invite-only event included a full pro-style workout with a laser-timed 60 yard dash using VALD Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice tracked by TrackMan. Following the workout, pitchers were evaluated during live gameplay with TrackMan capturing all pitch data and metrics.
Below, we highlight several 2026 players who stood out to the Prep Baseball Arizona staff with their performances in this edition of Quick Hits.

Brody Cox LHP / Queen Creek, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 1
Brody was in full command during his outing at the Arizona Top Prospect Games, flashing pure dominance from the left side. Working 87–89 mph and topping at 90, the fastball jumped out of a clean, repeatable delivery with feel for the zone on both sides of the plate. He paired it with a sharp curveball and a firmer slider that gave hitters different looks, all from the same slot. The pitchability stands out, and the ability to get outs vs both RHH and LHH with multiple weapons continues to elevate his stock.

Ryan Bresaw RHP / 3B / Basha, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 66 / POS: 9
Ryan turned in a strong outing on the mound at GCU, showcasing a physical 6'3 frame and a competitive presence. The fastball sat 85 to 87, touching 88, with some arm side run and the ability to work both edges. He showed flashes with his breaking ball and settled in nicely during his second inning, mixing a low 70s slider and a developing changeup. With a clean arm path and quick pace, Ryan attacks the zone and knows how to compete, making him a name to follow as he refines the offspeed.

Matthew Smith RHP / OF / Pinnacle, AZ / 2026Matthew brought electricity to the mound at the Arizona Top Prospect Games, showing an athletic delivery and a quick arm with serious life. His slider was the standout pitch, spinning up to 2708 rpm with sharp action, and the changeup gave him another effective secondary. The fastball worked 84 to 86, topping at 87, and his 2600+ spin on the breaking ball shows big upside. While he struggled a bit with command late in his outing, the tools and pitchability are real, and he continues to trend in the right direction.

Tyke Daniels RHP / OF / Queen Creek, AZ / 2026Tyke impressed with a strong all-around showing on the mound, flashing a quick arm and a well-rounded arsenal. The fastball sat 85 to 87 with carry through the zone, and he mixed in three quality secondaries — a low to mid 70s slider, a fading changeup, and a firm cutter. He showed feel for all pitches and competed well in the zone. An athletic mover with a 7.01 60 and 27.4 inch vertical, Tyke’s combo of arm speed and athleticism gives him real upside moving forward.

He posted a 108 mph max exit velocity with an eye-popping 102.3 mph average and drove a ball 408 feet during BP. The right-handed hitter shows a quick bat with advanced rotational acceleration and consistent line drive contact. Defensively, he reached 87 mph from the outfield and flashed well-rounded athleticism with a strong toolset that continues to trend up.

Jake showed why he's one of the more intriguing left-handed bats in the class, flashing both strength and athleticism throughout the day. He reached a 101 mph max exit velocity with a 394 foot peak distance, and his flat, compact swing produced consistent hard contact to all fields. A 6.88 runner with an 88 mph arm from the outfield, Jake brings a strong combination of speed and arm strength with the versatility to play both corner spots. His 20 G's of rotational acceleration and strong visual processing numbers round out a well-balanced profile.

Cameron put together one of the most explosive all-around performances at the Arizona Top Prospect Games. A 6.56 runner with a 33.1 inch vertical, he showed elite athleticism and serious offensive firepower. The right-handed hitter averaged 96.5 mph off the bat, peaking at 104 mph with a 390 foot max distance, and consistently drove hard pull-side contact with backspin. He also showed an 87 mph arm across the infield and strong rotational numbers, checking every box as a high-upside middle infielder with tools to impact the game in multiple ways.

Colton Raetzman OF / OF / Salpointe Catholic, AZ / 2026Colton continues to show he's one of the stronger right-handed bats in the class, delivering consistent loud contact throughout his round. He posted a 103 mph max exit velocity with a 95.4 mph average, driving backspin line drives to the pull side and showing strength through the zone with 20 G's of rotational acceleration. A 6.92 runner with an 89 mph arm from the outfield, Colton pairs physicality with athleticism, making him a high-follow outfield prospect heading into the summer.

Tyler Nelson 1B / RHP / Hamilton, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 91 / POS: 6
Tyler’s imposing 6'6 frame and natural leverage make him one of the more intriguing power bats in Arizona’s 2026 class. The left-handed hitter worked up to 102 mph exit velocity with a 95.2 mph average, showing easy loft and carry to the pull side. His swing works from a crouched setup with strength through contact, and he uses his lower half well to generate consistent backspin. Defensively, he moved well around the bag with an 86 mph arm and showed solid feel for the position. With his size, tools, and left-handed power, Tyler profiles as a middle of the order threat at the next level.

He flashed some sneaky power with a 365 foot max distance and continues to trend upward as he adds strength to his 5'10 frame. With instincts on both sides of the ball and strong visual processing, Ryan’s a name to keep an eye on.

Maximus Pena SS / 2B / Millennium, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 71 / POS: 19
Maximus stood out with a clean round of BP and quality infield actions, showing feel and polish on both sides of the ball. The left-handed hitter worked gap to gap with consistent line drive contact, using a short, efficient swing from a strong hitting position. He reached 95 mph exit velocity and ran a 6.89 60, highlighting his athleticism and quick first step. With smooth hands and an 83 mph arm across the diamond, Maximus profiles as a steady middle infielder who plays fast and stays within himself.

Will continues to prove he's one of the more polished infielders in the class, showing clean actions, confident footwork, and an 87 mph arm across the diamond. The left-handed hitter worked mostly to the pull side with consistent hard contact, reaching a 97 mph exit velocity and driving the ball 351 feet at peak. His swing is compact and direct, getting the barrel out front with intent. A 6.95 runner with strong instincts, Will plays with tempo and feel, and he continues to trend upward as a reliable top of the order type.

Isaac Holder SS / 3B / Brophy Prep, AZ / 2026Rankings StateRank: 81 / POS: 22
Isaac showed a well-rounded skill set at the Arizona Top Prospect Games, flashing feel at the plate and soft hands on the infield. The right-handed hitter posted a 97 mph max exit velocity with a 350 foot peak, using a rhythmic swing with some tilt to generate firm pull-side contact. Defensively, he showed comfort and reliability up the middle in a role he hasn’t consistently played this spring. With his clean actions, ability to soften hops, and improved range, Isaac made a strong case for increased positional flexibility moving forward. As he continues to add strength and arm velocity, the projection remains promising.

He peaked at 101 mph exit velocity with a 378 foot max distance, flashing true power potential. With his physicality, quick release behind the plate, and present strength at contact, David profiles as a dependable backstop with impactful tools on both sides of the ball.

Compact and strong at 5'5 188 pounds, he hits from a grounded lower half and showed a short, quick swing with solid bat speed and barrel control. He posted a 95 mph exit velocity and drove balls up to 348 feet, flashing power that plays above his size. With advanced catch-and-throw skills and one of the top Vizual Edge scores at the event, Jonah continues to make a strong impression behind the plate.

He peaked at 99 mph exit velocity with a 391 foot max distance, working from a simple, powerful setup. Behind the plate, he posted pop times between 1.96 and 2.03 with efficient footwork and a quick transfer, helping his 72 mph throws play up. A steady, durable backstop.
