Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

Las Vegas, NV - On Wednesday and Thursday, May 28-29, 2025, the Prep Baseball Nevada staff hosted our first event of the summer, which featured over 85 prospects from the 2026-2028 classes.  Each participant went through a pro-style workout that consisted of running a laser-timed 60 yard dash using Vald Performance, defensive evaluations, and batting practice using Trackman Baseball and Blast Motion.  Day 2 of the event, pitchers were evaluated during the Live Game Play with Trackman Baseball to receive all of their data and metrics.

Below, we highlight some of the 2028 players that made an immediate impression on the Prep Baseball Nevada Staff with the Quick Hits.

Quick Hits: 2028 Class

Noah Knudson SS / OF / Palo Verde, NV / 2028

Nevada’s top ranked ‘28 saw his game begin to take that next step as the HS season progressed and at the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, you saw it on full display with new personal bests posted during the Day 1 Workout, followed by the event’s lone homerun during the Live Game Play Portion on Day 2. They physically strength added to his now Prep Baseball Verified 6-foot-4, 172 pound frame has him primed for a big Summer with much more still projected to come.

Terrell Otis 3B / 1B / Centennial , NV / 2028

Another physical freshman that comes fresh off of a huge spring season, carried it into the Las Vegas Top Prospect Games, where he put up some of the top overall metrics, including one of the top Batting Practice Sessions of the event that saw him find the barrel with loud consistent contact. Then saw him seemingly get on base every bat during the live gameplay portion or show it off his abilities, steel bases, and make stuff happen on the offensive side. This is a blue collar type player that wants to win.

Joshua Teal OF / LHP / Arbor View HS, NV / 2028

Teal is another interesting 2028 that has the physicality that makes him an immediate impact player at the HS level and we got to see bits and pieces of that this past Spring. His 99.8 mph Exit Velocity ranked him as the 2nd best ‘28 and his 94.1 mph Average Exit Velocity ranked him 2nd in the overall event. His 85 mph Outfield Velocity and 6.93 VALD 60 Time also shows that his overall game continues to trend into a big summer season.

John DiLandri OF / SS / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2028

The toolsy 2028 has seen his physical strength make a big jump over the past year and his game mirrored that growth. His 6.86 mph VALD, 98.1 mph TrackMan EV and Event Best 85.3 mph Peak Blast Bat Speed shows that he is just getting started with is game projected to continue making big strides over the next few years.

Easton Lake SS / 2B / Legacy, NV / 2028

The incoming sophomore comes off of his breakout freshman spring, where he helped lead Legacy to another deep playoff run has a staple at the top of the order along with his brother Tyson. Still some youthful in size and appearance, his ability at the plate is very much present with feel for the barrel that was on display during the live gameplay portion where he continued to produce, just like you did all year for the Longhorns. You can expect his game to continue to trend as he add size and strength to his frame.

Leighton Canarelli OF / RHP / Faith Lutheran High School, NV / 2028

With obvious size and strength added, Canarelli saw his ability on both sides of the ball makes significant steps with one of the events top outfield velocities of 86 mph to go with his new personal best, 95.1 mph TrackMan exit velocity. The lean youthful lucky he had a year ago is already transforming into a more physical presence with much more projected to come.

Connor McDonald RHP / Palo Verde, NV / 2028

The incoming sophomore was one of the arms we had circled heading into this event as a player we expect to make a big jump from the Junior Future Games this past Summer and he did just that. With his fastball running up to 83.8 mph with flashes of present feel for his secondary stuff, this jumps are already taking place and his dominance throuhgout his outing proved that he is ready for a significant push this summer with his game only starting to scratch the surfaces with what we expect to come over the next few years.

Crosby McGreal RHP / OF / Coronado, NV / 2028

The 6-foot-1, 186.7 lbs. 2028 already has the physical attributes of a prospect that we anticipate to see continue seeing his overall game progress. The lone incoming sophomore to register 100+ mile per hour exit velocity, the present power is real and we expect there to be much more coming down the road as he continues to mature physically.

Oliver Schoppmann SS / RHP / Shadow Ridge, NV / 2028

Though he physically has a compact frame, his game is anything but that with an impressive showing throughout the week. The actions on the defensive side of the ball paired with his present feel for the barrel makes him a player that we anticipate making some serious noise this summer on the club circuit and carry that into a big sophomore year.
