2025 Prep Baseball Washington Player of the Year - Mason Pike
June 10, 2025
For the second straight season, 2025 RHP/INF Mason Pike has earned the Prep Baseball Washington 2025 High School Player of the Year award.
An incredible two-way talent and an Oregon State commit, Pike dominated on both sides of the baseball in his senior year campaign. The righty was exceptional on the mound, allowing just two earned runs through the regular season, and striking out 112 batters in 66.2 IP overall. The righty had just a .133 opponent's batting average, posting a 10-1 record and a 0.84 ERA for a Puyallup side that ended the season 28-1.
Pike was equally great at the plate, where he slashed .482/.583/.699 in his final year of high school baseball. The switch-hitter had 28 RBI and 39 R in 29 games played, logging 16 XBH's as well. Pike also drew 20 walks and stole 13 bases.

Pike opened the season with a statement performance against a dynamic lineup and future 3A state champions Mount Vernon, earning a W for Puyallup in their first game.
From 3/13/25... "A top-tier arm in the Washington senior class with MLB Draft upside looked the part in his first start of the spring. FB touched 97 MPH early, mostly 93-95 MPH in the opening frame. Manipulated shape with a 2S at 88-91 throughout. SL looked more firm at 84-86 as most trusted secondary pitch. CH was 87-88 and CB at 78-79. Went 5 dominant innings, with the only blemish in the box score due to an outfield fly ball lost in the twilight. Final line of 5 IP, 2 H, ER, 0 BB, 9 K. Also helped his case with maybe the hardest hit ball of the night, a screaming double to RCF. Standout performance."

Shortly before the start of playoff action, Pike was seen again by Prep Baseball staff, where he dominated a Curtis side that went on to appear in the WIAA 4A state tournament.
From 5/9/25... "Pike won Prep Baseball's High School Player of the Year award in 2024 and has built a strong case to repeat this spring, dominating both on the mound and at the plate all season. In this look, Pike got the start on the mound, where he sat 92-94 T95 MPH with an overpowering heater early. Showed a CB/SL/CH at various points, leaning on the FB/SL combination for the most part. Went the distance in a 5-inning run rule shortened game, allowing 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, and striking out 9. The switch hitter also went 2-3 with a run at the plate. On the whole this season, the Oregon State commit has now pitched 50 innings while allowing a miniscule 2 earned runs, with 81 K/14 BB."
The senior built on his incredible season with a 7 inning no-hit performance in the first round of the 4A state playoffs, logging 17 strikeouts en route to winning Prep Baseball's Pitcher of the Week award.

Pike's final outing of his high school career came in the 4A state semi's against the eventual state champs Lake Washington. The righty continued to flash premium stuff, running his FB into the mid 90's.
From 6/3/25: ... "The righty featured an athletic delivery with a FB at 91-94 MPH, touching 95 and mostly sitting 93-94 MPH throughout his outing. The Oregon State commit's strike zone was squeezed a bit early on, leading to some deeper counts and loud contact, but he showcased poise on the mound despite some tough results. Pike also showed two distinct breaking balls in the outing with a tighter mid-80's slider and a slower CB with some depth at 79-80 MPH. The loss capped what was a fantastic high school career and one of the best statistical runs on the mound in quite some time."
