Magnolia State Games: MVP & MVPitcher

RIDGELAND, MS — The 2025 Magnolia State Games was held on June 17-18 at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland, MS that featured top talent from the 2026-2029 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout with TrackMan, Blast Motion, and VALD Performance tech, while pitchers threw in game play and were able to get data and metrics on our TrackMan unit.

Some prospects built on past showings, while others made strong first impressions.

For the first time at the Magnolia State Games, we chose a Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher at the event. The winners will receive a pair of Oakley sunglasses, a $50 Dick's Sporting Good gift card and a Mizuno duffle bag.

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

Fischer Howell 3B / RHP / Petal, MS / 2027

The No. 2 prospect in the MS 2027 class did not disappoint on Tuesday and Wednesday. Howell earned MVP honors by blasted a pair of home runs at the event, with one of those being a grand slam.

MOST VALUABLE PITCHER

Reeves Kenney LHP / 1B / Tupelo Christian, MS / 2028

Kenney showed out on the mound during the Magnolia State Games. The southpaw would log two dominant innings as he allowed no runs and picked up five punchouts.
