2025 Carolina Summer Championships: 8 Standouts
June 10, 2025
CHARLESTON, SC: The 2025 Prep Baseball Carolina Summer Championships were held June 5th to June 8th in Charleston, South Carolina. This week marked a record for total teams at a Prep Baseball tournament in South Carolina, as 61 squads embarked upon the state-of-the-art Shipyard Park and its waterfront views to showcase some of the top talent across the southeast. Here are some players that stood out over the course of the week.
Briggs Lessmeister, 2028, OF/C, Clover
6-2 195-pounds, tall and physical for age with athleticism seeing time in the OF during the spring, right-handed hitter. Bend at the knees with a somewhat narrow stance with shoulders square to the mound, hands closer to body at shoulder level. Immense power at contact with the strong frame and above average bat speed that can really elevate the baseball in an upward path. Big time impact with easy pull side juice homering twice with a triple and four BBs on the week. High upside in the offensive profile and developing tools in the OF, a name to circle in the ‘28 class.
We still doing #PalmettoPower @PrepBaseball_SC ??

Noah Layton, 2027, OF, P27 Academy
Athletic and strong 6-0 163-pound frame that moves well in all facets, left-handed hitter. Stands upright and slightly open in the box with weight slightly preset on back hip, shoulders pre-loaded back before first move. Good athletic sink into back leg with a medium leg kick and hands stretch as he strides. Electric hand speed can catch any pitch location and picks his spots well. Still 15 y/o. A lot to like with budding tools.
