2025 Indiana Player of the Week: Week #7

Each week during the spring, our staff tabs a 'Player of the Week'. We rely heavily on coaches' submissions for this award, so it is imperative that coaches respond to our submission email each week in order to give our staff the ability to give recognition to players that are deserving. Each week, coaches can submit their candidates to [email protected].

Week #7 of the regular season has come to a conclusion & without further ado - find our Player of the Week for last week along with a group of honorable mentions.


Tyler Denny OF / C / Mooreville , IN / 2026

+ Denny, a riser in our recent 2026 class rankings update, put together an ultra-impactful week for the #23 Mooresville Pioneers last week. The uncommitted OF went 11-for-19 (.579) in (5) games, clubbing (4) doubles and (3) homers. He scored (5) runs, swiped (3) bases, and his most impressive stat was the (12) runs he drove in throughout the week. Through (22) games played this spring, Denny boasts a (.448) average with (8) 2B, (2) 3B, (5) HR, and (30) stolen bases. 


Honorable Mentions

Brandon Logan, OF, 2025, Fort Wayne Snider

+ The dual-sport Notre Dame signee has led Snider to a place inside our 4A rankings with a strong senior campaign. Last week, as Snider went 4-0, Logan went 7-for-11 with a double, (2) homers, (4) RBI, (9) runs scored, and he stole (12) bags - pushing his season SB total to (36) through the end of last week. 

Cal Gates, OF, 2025, Bedford North Lawrence

+ Gates is having one of the best offensive seasons of any Hoosier State native this spring, and he went 7-for-10, including (3) homers scattered throughout last week. The Indiana recruit accounted for (10) runs scored, (5) RBI, (3) SB, and reached base at an (.800) clip. 

Will Jaisle, RHP, 2025, Batesville

+ The Notre Dame recruit struck out (18) hitters for Batesville in (7) innings pitched. He allowed (zero) hits during the week, walked four, and collected a win and a save. Jaisle also added a homer on the offensive side of the ball in a win versus Rushville. 

Jaxon Sparks, OF/1B, 2025, Fort Wayne Carroll

+ The left-handed slugger heading to Indiana State had a huge week for Carroll, going 7-for-10 with a double and (4) HR - en route to (6) runs scored and (7) RBI during the week.

Anthony Antonuccio, RHP, 2025, Bishop Luers

+ Antonuccio was excellent for Luers with arguably the most impressive statline amongst pitchers submitted this week. The Webster recruit tossed 12.2 frames, racking up (21) strikeouts, highlighted by a no-hit performance vs. Garrett in a 3-0 win on Saturday.

Owen Futa, OF/INF, 2025, South Bend Saint Joseph

+ Futa had a week for the 3A #6 Huskies with the following statline: 12-for-15 (.800), (2) 2B, (1) 3B, (1) HR, (7) RBI, and (10) runs. His home run came in walk-off fashion vs. 3A #10 Dwenger in a game where Futa also hit for the cycle. 

Jonathan Riley, OF, 2026, McCutcheon

+ Riley continues to produce at a high level this spring as he leads the Mavs in several offensive categories to this point in the spring. The uncommitted junior enjoyed a 9-for-12 (.750) week, highlighted by (2) 2B, (2) HR, (5) RBI, and (6) runs scored. 

Peyton Gray, SS/RHP, 2026, Heritage Hills

+ Gray continues to produce this spring, going 5-for-7 last week with (2) homers, (4) runs scored, and (6) RBI. In his start on the mound, he tossed a complete game 2-hitter to pick up the win.

Tate Tanksley, C, 2025, Bedford North Lawrence

+ Tanksley went 9-for-14 for the Stars last week, collecting (8) RBI with (4) runs scored and a pair of doubles. 

Rowan Kenning, SS, 2025, Kankakee Valley

+ The Calumet College of St Joe commit went 8-for-15 last week, including (6) doubles in total. He also added (6) runs scored and (5) RBI scattered throughout the week.

Adam Traylor, OF/LHP, 2025, Southwestern (Hanover)

+ Traylor was Mr. Do-it-all for Southwestern last week, hitting .500 (5-for-10) with (4) runs, (5) RBI, and a double. On the mound, he tossed 7.2 innings without allowing an earned run, fanning (15) while only allowing (2) hits and (3) walks. He took a lough-luck loss where he allowed zero earned runs, and also added a save. 

Quinn Westerfeld, OF/LHP, 2027, Western Boone

+ Westerfeld earned a complete game win over Frankfort scattering a pair of earned runs throughout a (5) strikeout performance. At the dish, the left-handed hitter went 8-for-13 with a pair of doubles, a triple, a homer, and (8) runs driven in. 

Carter Strole, 3B, 2027, Fishers

+ Strole is getting going as of late and helped the No. 3 Tigers to (3) wins last week. Strole went 7-for-9 (.778), including three doubles and three RBI. 

AJ Nunley, MIF, 2025, Lapel

+ Nunley is one of the leaders for 2A #1 Lapel and his 8-for-15 week last week earns him recognition on this list. Nunley reached base at a (.588) clip, recorded (8) hits including a triple, scored (3) runs, and was a perfect 10/10 defensively. 

Gavin Jenkins, OF/LHP, 2027, Eastern Hancock

+ Jenkins did it all for the Royals last week, going 9-for-15 at the dish with - (3) 2B, (1) 3B, (1) HR, (6) runs, and (5) RBI, highlighted by hitting for the cycle against Scecina on Thursday. He also earned a save on the bump, working (3) scoreless innings throughout the week with (7) strikeouts. 

AJ LaSane, INF, 2027, South Bend Saint Joseph

+ Lasane batting a scorching (.706) for the top-ranked 3A squad in South Bend last week, 12-for-19 in total, including (2) doubles and (5) RBI. 

Drew Fredenburg, INF/RHP, 2026, Shenandoah

+ Fredenburg went 9-for-12 (.750) last week with a double, a homer, and (11) total runs (5 RBI, 6 R). He also struck out (8) in a 5-inning, (4) hit performance on the bump. 

Sam Gooch, UTL/RHP, 2026, Greencastle

+ Gooch is one of the top two-way performers in Indiana's 2A class this spring, and posted yet another eye-popping statline last week. He earned a win over Sullivan, working (5) innings of 1-run baseball, and also went 7-for-10 at the dish with (11) runs scored and (12) stolen bases - pushing his stolen base total to a whopping (42) this spring.
