GLENDALE, AZ — On Sunday, May 18th, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff kicked off the Summer Tour with a stop at Apollo High School for the Glendale Summer ID. With prospects in attendance from the 2026–2028 classes, this event served as an early summer checkpoint for players looking to update their profiles ahead of a busy travel ball season. The day featured a full pro-style workout, including laser-timed 60s, defensive evaluations, BP rounds tracked by TrackMan and Blast Motion, and bullpens with pitch data captured throughout. Several players stood out with strong showings and tools that will make them follows heading into the summer. Below, we highlight a handful of the top performers from the day.

*PLAYERS LISTED IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

Aldo Teilon SS / Tucson, AZ / 2027

Aldo showed a premium toolset with standout athleticism and bat speed. He recorded a 103 mph top exit velocity with a 95.1 mph average, both event bests, while also leading in max distance (402 ft). His 71.3 mph bat speed and 95 mph OF velocity back up the explosive tools at his disposal. The 6 ‘1, 155-pound LHH has long levers and whippy hands that produce natural loft, pointing to big offensive upside as he continues to mature physically.

Maximus Pena SS / OF / Millennium, AZ / 2026

Maximus displayed quick hands and good footwork in the infield at this ID. He registered as one of the strongest INF arms at 88 mph, tying for the event lead. He also posted a peak exit velocity of 95 mph and drove the ball to all fields during BP, recording a 343 ft max distance. Pena's combination of bat strength and arm talent makes him a name to follow heading into the summer.

Luca Amoroso OF / C / Notre Dame Prep, AZ / 2026

Luca impressed us with his bat during BP at this ID. He showed good posture in the box and a short, direct path that generated a top exit velocity of 95 mph and average of 80.2 mph. He launched balls up to 336 ft with tight rotational acceleration. Defensively, he topped 87 mph from the outfield and flashed quality arm strength that complements his smooth offensive game.

Greyson Bott OF / RHP / Notre Dame Prep, AZ / 2026

Greyson stood out as one of the most physical and projectable athletes at the event. The 6 ‘3, 185 pound RHH delivered a 102 mph max exit velocity and averaged 97 mph during BP, showcasing consistent loud contact. His max distance of 394 ft trailed only Teilon. He showed bat speed at 74.2 mph, and a peak throwing velo of 86 mph across the diamond. Bott's tools, size, and upward trend make him an intriguing follow on both sides of the ball.

Devin Dekavallas RHP / 3B / Perry High School, AZ / 2027

On the mound, Devin showed a clean operation with a high 3/4 arm slot and good tempo, working up to 82 mph with his fastball. His breaking ball (68-71 mph) showed quality depth with spin rates up to 2077 rpm, and he mixed a low 70s changeup as a viable third offering. With a projectable frame (6 ‘1, 170) and a loose arm, there's more room for growth on both sides of the ball.

Kyan Sims LHP / 1B / Verrado, AZ / 2026

Kyan showed well on the mound with one of the cleaner deliveries at the event. The strong bodied LHP (6’, 205) ran his fastball up to 85 mph, sitting 83-84 with a loose, over the top arm action and consistent direction down the mound. He mixed in a firm slider at 70-76 mph (up to 2255 rpm) with sharp break and a developing changeup. His smooth mechanics, strike throwing ability, and feel for spin point to starter potential as he continues refining his pitch mix.

Jesper Roodenburg 3B / RHP / Pinnacle, AZ / 2028

Roodenburg showed well in both hitting and defense. He consistently barreled balls with authority, showing the ability to generate pull-side impact with intent. Posted a peak exit velocity of 99 mph and drove balls as far as 355 feet during BP, flashing both present strength and efficient swing mechanics. Defensively, his arm velocity topped out at 84 mph from SS.
