The Crusaders took an early lead going up 5-0 After three innings with Cash Martin cruising on the mound. After putting up a combined six runs in the fourth and fifth, the wolves were within striking distance Heading into the bottom of the seventh. The Crusaders jumped out early with a three run third inning with the help of a Kingston Kela triple to Wrightfield that brought in two runs. Burke was able to keep the Reno bats quiet over his five innings of work. The Huskies were able to scratch one across in the top of the fourth on a Thompton RBI single, followed by both team scratching, went across in the sixth with the Crusaders still holding a two run lead heading into the seventh. The Huskies have been a gritty team all year, and it showed in the top of the seventh when they put up five runs with the help of RBIs from Dalen, Ford, Edwards and Jones, going up 7 to 4 heading into the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore, Troy Riley, how things down over the last 4.1 innings a lot on the one earned, ultimately closing out the bottom of the seventh to send Reno to the state championship game.
