The spring season is all but over across the state of Maryland, as our staff was out in full force at games throughout the spring. In this rankings edition, we reveal the top 50 players in the class of 2027. Plenty of shakeup in the top 10, as we see 5 risers throughout and close to 20 risers inside the top 50. See notes on three players that make a jump inside the top 10 below.

Anthony Badillo SS / ARCHBISHOP SPALDING HIGH SCHOOL, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 1
Possessing an ultra-athletic 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, the wiry infielder showcased well on both sides of the ball each time we got eyes on him this spring. Quick hands that transfer to whip in the barrel, Badillo has the keen ability to spray line drives to the middle with some added power that should only skyrocket as the body continues to mature. This is a top of the order profile, and the nice mix of speed and power only increases this stock as we inch closer to the summer months. |

Cameron Allen RHP / SS / Polytech, DE / 2027Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 3
This is an arm that grabbed our attention last fall, and a few more looks this spring only increased our stock in the 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-hander. It’s a lean, yet strong makeup with plenty of room to fill, working with controlled intent down the bump and one of the more electric fastballs in Delaware. The heater lives in the upper 80s, grabbing a few 90s throughout the spring with the ability to showcase fairly consistent feel to both sides of the plate. The curveball is the difference maker, spinning it at a high rate and getting consistent whiffs in the zone. As the curveball feel increases, and the ability to spin it in any count grows, this is a can’t miss arm this summer. |

Luke Crawford C / OF / Georgetown Preparatory School, MD / 2027Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 2
This was easily one of my favorite catchers to watch this spring, and the ability to impact on both sides certainly caught my attention early and often this spring. A left-handed hitting catcher, the athletic 6-foot-3, 184-pounder showcased one of the more consistent barrel feels across the state, and the added strength in the frame only increased the power numbers. The operation at the dish is smooth and fluid, staying balanced through attack with a slightly uphill path, showcasing present doubles power with even more left in the ceiling. |
