Prep Baseball Louisiana 2026 State Rankings Risers: May 2025 Update

Cole Snell OF / SS / Benton High School, LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer put up some gaudy numbers this spring and helped Benton get back to the Division I (Non-Select) State Semifinals for the second year in a row.  Snell hit at a .470 clip with a .542 on-base percentage to go along with 2 home runs, 12 doubles, 7 triples, 59 runs batted in, and 56 runs scored.  He also swiped 31 bases and only struck out 9 times all season.  Snell should be a must-see guy for college recruiters this summer.

Hudson Browning C / 3B / East Ascension, LA / 2026

Browning is another former Future Gamer who enjoyed a fantastic junior campaign.  The Northwestern State commit finished the spring hitting .430 with 7 home runs, 13 doubles, 2 triples, and drove in 32 runs.  Browning also hit at a .500 clip with runners in scoring position and 5 of his home runs came at East Ascension's home park, which is known to be a "graveyard".

Coy Purpera OF / 1B / Brusly, LA / 2026

The 6-4, 195 lbs. uncommitted junior had a jam-up junior season and helped the Panthers reach the Division II (Non-Select) State Championship series.  Purpera finished the spring hitting .429 with 3 home runs, 12 doubles, 5 triples, 45 runs batted in, and also stole 23 bases.  He was on fire at the LHSAA State Tournament as well.  In three games against North DeSoto, he went 8-for-10 (.800) with 3 doubles, 2 triples, and 5 runs batted in.

The hitting just won’t stop for the Panthers, as 2026 Coy Purpera (Brusly HS) joins in on the action.

Jackson Lee OF / LHP / Ruston, LA / 2026

The uncommitted junior outfielder had a breakout year for Ruston this spring.  Lee finished the spring with a .431 average, 11 doubles, 5 triples, 29 runs batted in, and 38 runs scored.  He also got on base at a .507 clip and swiped 28 bags as the Bearcats leadoff man.
