GPS Scout Day: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, May 27th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Concordia University in Austin, TX, to host the GPS Scout Day, an event exclusively for players within the GPS travel organization.
Nearly 70 players made their way to Concordia University and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff. We have already released a statistical analysis, highlighting the top statistical performers from the event.
Today, we will conclude our post-event rollout with our scouting takeaways from the event.

Mason Gonzalez
Position: LHP/1B
School: Rouse (2026)

Mason Gonzalez is a solid two-way player with a lot of potential both at the plate and on the mound. Standing with a strong build, Gonzalez consistently puts the ball in play with a solid line drive approach, focusing on hitting for average over power. Defensively, he moves well around first base, showing good footwork and the ability to make plays. On the mound, Gonzalez has shown a feel for his stuff, working around the strike zone effectively. His fastball sits in the mid-80s, and while he hasn’t yet hit his peak velocity, his frame suggests more is to come as he develops.

Kasen Langerhans
Position: SS
School: Cedar Ridge (2028)
Kasen Langerhans is a promising young shortstop with a great build and plenty of room to add strength as he matures. His actions on the field are solid, and his arm projects well with the ability to throw from multiple angles. At the plate, Langerhans displays developing bat speed and consistently finds the barrel with solid contact. His swing produces line drives, with the potential for more power as he refines his mechanics. The lift in his swing generates fly balls, and power should continue to develop as he matures. With baseball bloodlines and solid tools, Langerhans is an exciting prospect to follow as he continues to grow and improve.

Wyatt Everswick
Position: OF
School: Lake Travis (2027)
Wyatt Everswick is an athletic outfielder with room to add strength as he matures. He moves well on the field and has the potential to develop into a plus runner. A left-handed hitter, Everswick displays a solid approach at the plate, with an emphasis on line drive contact. He stays through the baseball well with good extension in his swing. With tools that continue to develop, Everswick has the potential to become a dynamic player as he gains strength and refines his game.
Jace Kivett
Position: OF
School: Round Rock (2026)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Jace Kivett is an athletic outfielder with a strong build and plus run. He has solid bat speed and consistently makes good contact. Kivett is showing developing pull-side power and is an aggressive hitter with a focus on pulling the ball. With his upside and athleticism, he has the potential to grow into a dangerous offensive player as he continues to develop his approach.
Braedan Borger
Position: C
School: Hendrickson (2027)
Braedan Borger is a catcher with a good build that has room for added strength. He has a solid approach at the plate and consistently finds the barrel. As he continues to develop, his ability to impact the baseball will improve with added strength. Behind the plate, he’s solid and shows promise, with his raw arm strength expected to increase. A player to watch as he continues to grow and refine his skills.
Riggs Gordon
Position: C
School: Cedar Ridge (2027)
Riggs Gordon is a catcher with a good frame. He received well behind the plate and showed good carry on his throws. At the plate, he demonstrated solid contact with upside to make an impact as he continues to develop. While there are some areas for adjustment in his hitting approach, he moves well and is expected to get stronger. With baseball bloodlines, Gordon is a player to keep an eye on as his tools continue to mature.Our scouting staff saw him take some good swings in-game this spring off of high level arms. Also saw him command the game from behind the plate.
Camdon Bartek
Position: INF
School: Rogers (2028)
Camdon Bartek is an infielder with strong defensive actions and impressive body control and agility. His arm works well, and with development, his raw arm strength will continue to improve. At the plate, Bartek consistently finds the barrel and makes solid contact. As he adds strength and improves the use of his lower half in his swing, he has the potential to generate hard contact. Bartek is a player with considerable upside and room for growth.
Colton Green
Position: INF
School: Georgetown (2027)
Colton Green is an infielder with a solid build. He moves well on the field, and while his current run time is average, he has the potential to develop into a plus runner. At the plate, Green shows a solid hit approach paired with plus bat speed, giving him the ability to impact the baseball. Defensively, his feet work well, and his arm shows carry across the field. Green is an interesting player with significant upside as he continues to develop.
Cooper Thomas
Position: OF/INF
School: Georgetown (2027)
Cooper Thomas is a highly athletic player with a 6.61 60-yard dash, showcasing his plus speed. He moves well in the outfield with good carry on his throws. At the plate, Thomas displays plus bat quickness and makes hard contact off the barrel. His swing development will be key to his future success, as he stays on top more to be able to get to the high pitch. With continued refinement, Thomas has the potential to develop into a top player with exciting tools to work with.

Jaxon Newberry
Position: OF/INF
School: Cedar Ridge (2027)
Jaxon Newberry is a plus runner who moves well in the outfield. He has a solid hit approach with a good swing and shows bat quickness, consistently making line drive contact. Newberry's ability to barrel the baseball and maintain a consistent approach makes him an intriguing prospect. With more physical development, he should continue to refine his tools and grow into a dynamic player.
Luke Irwin
Position: SS
School: Cedar Ridge (2027)
Luke Irwin has a solid build with room to add strength, and there’s a good chance he’ll develop into a plus runner in the future. Defensively, he shows solid actions with good body control and the ability to make throws with carry, though his arm could improve over time. With continued development and added strength, Irwin has the potential to be a strong prospect with solid tools across the board. His defensive skills and athleticism should continue to improve as he matures.
Brayden Naegele
Position: SS
School: Salado (2027)
Brayden Naegele has a solid build with room to add more strength as he matures. His actions at shortstop are steady, and his footwork is solid, allowing him to play the position effectively. His arm works well with the potential to develop well at the next level. At the plate, Naegele shows a good approach with a solid swing path, consistently making hard line-drive contact. With his tools and athleticism, he’s a player to watch as he continues to refine his game.
Bernhard Amann Jr.

School: Salado (2026)

Bernhard Amann Jr. has gotten more physical since the last time we saw him. Behind the plate, he has solid receiving skills and consistently showed good carry to his throws, with solid pop times in the workout setting. At the plate, he displays some bat speed and a solid approach, with a good feel for the strike zone. Defensively, he’s a solid catcher with a solid arm, but his build suggests the potential for stronger throws as he matures. Amann has a solid foundation to build on and will continue to develop into a strong catcher at the next level.
Alex Lutey
Position: OF
School: Eastview (2026)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Alex Lutey has a good frame and will continue to add strength, which should improve his performance in the future. An average runner at the moment, he has the potential to develop into a plus runner as he matures. Defensively, he moves well in the outfield, tracking balls efficiently. At the plate, Lutey makes solid contact, consistently creating line drives. He’s a strong, well-rounded athlete with room to grow, and as he gains strength, he could become a real contributor both offensively and defensively.
Ben Nuckolls
Position: LHS
School: Georgetown (2027)
Ben Nuckolls is a lean, projectable left-handed pitcher with room to add strength as he develops. His arm works well, showing some arm speed and deception in his delivery. Currently sitting in the low 80s with his fastball, he has the potential to add velocity as he matures physically. Nuckolls also features a hard changeup with good tail action that plays well off his fastball. He has a feel for his curveball, showing good spin and movement. With his ability to manipulate multiple pitches and his potential for increased velocity, Nuckolls is an intriguing prospect to follow, especially as he continues to develop both his physicality and pitch repertoire.
Maverik Maddux
Position: RHS
School: Lake Belton (2026)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Maverik Maddux is a well-built, athletic right-handed pitcher with a projectable frame. He has a full circle arm action and arm speed that bodes well for increased velocity in the future. In his most recent outing, his fastball touched 89 MPH, and he has the potential to see that number spike as his physicality develops. We have seen him up to 91 in HS action as well. Maddux also showcases a slider with solid depth, though it can be slurvy at times. His curveball shows early break with downward action but is still developing consistency. His split-finger has down action and is another pitch with good potential. With his fastball velocity expected to increase and his secondary pitches continuing to firm up, Maddux has all the tools to become a top-tier arm. He also plays quarterback in football, showing his athletic versatility.

Sawyer Neugent
Position: RHP
School: Georgetown (2027)
Sawyer Neugent is a young right-handed pitcher with a solid build. He works from a lower three-quarter arm slot with a cross-step delivery, allowing for good deception. His fastball has some life, with some sink and tail action, and topped out at 85 MPH in his most recent outing. Neugent also features a changeup with turnover action, and his curveball is still a developing pitch but shows promise. With his physical growth and expected velocity increase, Neugent has the potential to be effective at the collegiate level. As he refines his secondary pitches, his overall command and pitch mix should improve, making him a prospect to watch closely moving forward.
Landon Teller
Position: RHP
School: Weiss (2028)
Landon Teller is a young right-handed pitcher with a strong, projectable build that will add size and strength as he matures. His arm quickness stands out, and he shows good command with his fastball, which topped out at 83 MPH. Teller also demonstrates a feel for his secondary pitches, giving him a well-rounded arsenal for his age. As his physical frame develops, he has the potential for increased velocity and further refinement of his pitches. Keep an eye on Teller as he continues to progress—he’s a name to watch moving forward.
Cote Tullos
Position: LHP/OF
School: Hendrickson (2029)
Cote Tullos, an incoming freshman, showed impressive tools on both sides of the. On the mound, his fastball ranged from 82-83 MPH with significant horizontal movement, and his breaking balls have potential to develop further. He also displayed his arm strength from the outfield, topping out at 85 MPH, and registered a max exit velocity of 90 MPH at the plate. Tullos is an exciting two-way player to watch, with the chance to develop into a high-level arm and position player as he matures.
