Each week throughout the high school season, we will announce the Prep Baseball Oregon Pitcher and Hitter of the Week, recognizing standout performances from across the state. With numerous players excelling both at the plate and on the mound, this award will be based on nominations submitted through our POTW Google Form.
Additionally, we will continue our Oregon Diamond Notes to highlight other deserving players nominated by coaches who were not selected as the Pitcher or Hitter of the Week.
This week's Hitter of the Week is '27 C Joe Mendazona (Central).

Joe Mendazona Jr. C / RHP / Central, OR / 2027The second ranked sophomore in the state and a premier talent, Mendazona earns Hitter of the Week for week 9 of Oregon HS action after going 7/10 last week. The sophomore hit a home run and 2 doubles, driving in 2 runs as a part of his huge week. The Central High School product also scored 8 runs and walked 3 times. Mendazona is the top-ranked uncommitted player in the Oregon '27 class. |
