Oregon Uncommitted Spotlight - '26 C Kai Sugiuchi

As we enter the summer showcase season, Prep Baseball Oregon features an Uncommitted Spotlight, where we highlight standout performers who have attended a Prep Baseball Preseason ID event this year. Uncommitted spotlights are meant to showcase players that Prep Baseball Scouts felt showed standout tools, large improvements in overall game, or potential upside moving forward. This week, we spotlight '26 C Kai Sugiuchi. The junior out of West Linn High School was seen most recently at the Corvallis Preseason ID this winter.
A 5'8 prospect, Sugiuchi had quick defensive actions behind the plate and was on the barrel from the right hand side of the dish. Below is a complete breakdown of the junior, including scouting reports and video from the event.
