Iron Nine Scout Day: Quick Hits

On Tuesday, June 3rd, the Prep Baseball New Jersey staff traveled down to the Breslin Field in Lyndhurst, NJ for the Iron Nine Scout Day.

This event is always a great opportunity for us to get our eyes on the talented players within the Iron Nine orginization and this year's showcase proved to be a successful.

We wanted to take the time to highlight a number of the standout players from the event in a Quick Hits story, found below.


POSITION PLAYERS

MIF Logan Bohn (Rutherford, 2028) proved to be an intriguing prospect in the 2028 class. Bohn has a 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame with clean actions all around. In his round of BP, Bohn peaked at 88.2 mph EV, working line drives throghout his round. Defensively, tossed an event leading 83 mph across the infield with one of the best defensive rounds of the night. Another impressive note, Bohn cut his 60-yard time doen by nearly half a second since March, running a 7.55, which will continue to improve. 

3B Quinn Weber (Rutherford, 2028) stands 6-foot-5, 185-pounds as a incoming sophomore, currently ranked No. 26 in the state's '28 class. Weber impressed throughout the day, running a 7.17 60-yard dash and putting together a loud round of BP. Weber topped at 93.2 mph EV with an average of 85.4 mph. Weber used his big frame to launch line drives throughout the round, had a max distance of 335'. Weber had a clean defensive round and threw 79 mph from third. A player to follow in the 2028 class. 

OF Tiago Enright (St. Peter's Prep, 2026) At 6-foot-1, 170-pound, compact frame, Enright had a quality showing in his Prep Baseball Showcase debut. Enright ran a 7.27 60-yard dash and threw 82 mph from the outfield. At the plate, took a solid round of BP, peaking at 91 mph EV with some bat speed and a max distance of 317', an interesting player to follow throughout the summer. 

OF Stefano Rizio (Montclair Kimberley, 2029) has a 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame and has impressive actions all around before playing high school baseball. The incoming freshman had a max EV of 87 mph and a max distance of 325', using the whole field with barrel control in his round of BP. Later in the day, tossed 79 mph from the outfield. A young player to keep en eye on throughout his high school career. 

OF Thatcher Partelow (St. Peter's Prep, 2026) had a solid showing at this year's Iron Nine Scout Day. A 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect, Partelow ran a 7.10 60-yard dash to start the day. Continuting his success in his BP round, the outfielder had a max EV of 92.3 mph and a max distance of 357' which was the top at the event. Defensively, threw 78 mph from the outfield. A prospect to follow with a hit tool. 

OF Max Johnson (St. Peter's Prep, 2028) showed well in his round of BP as well as his defensive round. At the Plate, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete was on the barrel throughout his round with EVs up to 88.5 mph and 336'. On defense, the outfielder was smooth and athletic, throwing 83 mph from his respective position. 

TWO WAY

RHP/OF Nicolas Erminio (Wayne Valley, 2027) currently ranked No. 21 in the state's '27 class, Erminio impressed as a two-way prospect at the event. Offensively, EV peaked at 90 mph with some visable bat and hand speed. Erminio threw an event leading 87 mph from the outfield, and ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. On the mound, had his fastball at 82-84 mph with jump, previously has been up to 87 mph, Worked a curveball at 67-71 mph for strikes, and a changeup at 71-74 mph with an average of 14 in. of IVB. 

PITCHERS

RHP Hudson Giddens (St. Peter's Prep, 2027) A 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame, Giddens impressed in his bullpen at the event. Worked a three pitch mix, with a fastball at 80-81 mph (2430 avg. rpm), a changeup 78-79 mph with a 100% strike %, and a slider at 66-69 mph with 15.5 in. of avg. HM and 2372 avg. spin. A prospect with heavy spin more velocity in the tank to follow. 

RHP Aidan Lake (New Providence, 2027) A 5-foot-8, 140-pound right-hander had the top fastball velocity at the event at 78-82 T85 mph with an average of 17.3 IVB. Also used a curveball at 66-68 mph for strikes, and a changeup at 70-72 mph with vertical and horizontal movement.
