4.23.25

+ In one of the most competitve regions and areas of the state, this freshman was thrusted into the starting shortstop role for one of the best teams in the state. In addition to hitting .389 this season, the top 2028 in the state had one homerun, twenty-five RBI, and only struck out three times (vs his eleven walks). While he did not have a ton of innings on the mound, the majority of his eighteen innings thrown were in big games and big spots, more specifically on the back end of games. Gunning had two saves, allowed only one earned run, struck out twenty-four, and carried a .389 ERA. He was a pivotal part of the Bobcats' run through the season and in the playoffs. His in game production and maturity for a freshman are rare.

3.18.25 Pitch

+ Spangler had absolutely ridiculous, video game like, numbers in 2025. While the consistent quality of competition does not compare to Battlefield, his ability to produce the numbers he did is hard to look away from. The Northside two-way standout hit .516 on the season with thirty-three hits, thirty RBI, and nearly a 3:1 BB/K ratio. Spangler reached base nearly 65% of the time and had an OPS of 1.305. While the offensive numbers alone would have probably landed him in this spot, Spangler added to his value with 48.1 innings pitched, seventy-four strikeouts, and a 1.59 ERA. He had some of the best production in the state, regardless of region or grad class.
