Event History
The Milwaukee Summer ID has annually showcased some of the premier talent in Wisconsin to begin the summer showcase schedule. At last year’s event, there were multiple strong performances at the showcase, and there is belief that this year’s roster will look to provide a similar showing.
RHP Ryan Buchta (Oak Creek, 2025; Winona State) provided one of the best looks on the mound, recording a then-highest FB velo (86 mph). The righty would go on to play a big role for an Oak Creek squad that saw themselves go 23-6 on the season with an appearance at the state finals. Buchta’s dominant season on the mound was highlighted by his perfect game in which he punched out 13 batters against Kenosha Bradford.
OF Bennett Burke (IMG Academy, 2025; Manhattan) and 1B Brendan Scheel (Martin Luther, 2025; Winona State) both produced some of the loudest rounds of BP during last year’s showcase, with both batters producing a max EV of 97 mph. Both players would use their momentum to provide even more impressive showings at the Wisconsin State Games, with both players committing later in the school year.
Lastly, INF Brayden Alivo (St. Thomas More, 2026; Wisconsin-Milwaukee) put on a strong showing at last year’s event and would go on to represent Wisconsin at the 2024 Futures Games. The rising-senior announced his commitment to Wisconsin-Milwaukee just a few months after.
2025 Roster
The 2025 roster will provide our staff with looks at some of the top prospects in Wisconsin, as there are plenty of returning players that we are excited to get the chance to see again.
After a strong showing at the South Milwaukee Preseason ID, RHP Joshua Bonin (New Berlin Eisenhower, 2026) is an arm that we are excited to see again this year. After recording a max fastball velocity of 88.4 in South Milwaukee this winter. The righty features a lively three-pitch mix with tons of feel for spin, with his fastball (2272 average rpm), curveball (2351 average rpm), and changeup (1959 average rpm) all among the top of the spin leaderboards.
1B/RHP Tyson Resch (Menomonee Falls, 2028) is currently the highest rated player attending the event, as he slots in ranked No. 19 in Wisconsin’s class of 2028 rankings. The rising-sophomore has upside both at the plate and on the mound, highlighted by a 94.3 max EV and a fastball that topped out at 85 earlier this winter at the West Milwaukee Preseason ID.
1B/RHP Nolan Monosso (Brookfield Central, 2026) and RHP Kingston Liddell (St. Francis, 2026) are a pair of long-levered, uncommitted rising-seniors that are heading to Milwaukee. Liddell is coming off a strong spring season for St. Francis in which he struck out 30 batters in 18.2 innings, while Monosso features some upside on the mound and at the plate which was on display at the Kenosha Preseason ID earlier this winter.
To round it out, RHP Henry Koopmeiners (Waukesha North, 2027) is a high-upside arm with a frame to dream on. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound righty was a part of a Waukesha North squad that found themselves in the midst of our Power 25 rankings late in the year, and is a name to keep an eye on going forward. Koopmeiners has a quality feel for his mechanics with repeatability, and has many of us excited about his progression in the future.
