2025 Prep Baseball Wisconsin Third Team, All-State

By Wisconsin Staff

Last week, we published our 2025 Prep Baseball Wisconsin First Team, All-State and the Second Team roster, feautring 19 of the best players from this past WIAA season on each squad. Today, we're ready to conclude our 2025 WIAA season coverage by publishing our Third Team, All-State roster. Beneath our Third Team selections, we list out each of the players who were nominated for our all-state teams under the "Honorable Mentions" section.

You can find our 2022-2024 all-state honorees listed on this page, if you’re interested.

Now, here are the 19 players who have earned a place on the 2025 Third Team, All-State roster, as well as this year's Honorable Mentions.

CATCHERS

Logan Hagman C / OF / Hudson, WI / 2027

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B HR RBI BB
.376 .522 .682 15 1 3 21 20

The standout sophomore has been a key piece in the Raiders' back-to-back appearances at the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament. Hagman is one of the better all-around hitters in the state and he’s been that way since he first stepped foot on Hudson’s varsity squad in 2024, when he was also named to the Third Team list as a freshman outfielder. Showing the ability to hit for a high average while driving the ball with gap-to-gap power, backed by a .376 average and 21 extra-base hits. He’s a mature hitter with evident confidence and presence in the box, able to work at-bats and get on base, underscored by his .522 on-base percentage. As a young leader behind the plate for the Raiders, Hagman looks to continue this level of success into his junior year.

Terek Verhage C / Monona Grove, WI / 2025

AVG 2B 3B HR RBI BB:K OPS FLD%
.319 9 1 2 25 12:3 0.909 .995

Verhage’s season stats don’t even tell the full story of his value and meaning to the Silver Eagles, one of the top teams in the state this year. He’s Monona Grove’s all-time program leader in RBIs and walks, and second all-time in hits, doubles, triples, and homers. And while he’s majorly valuable at the plate for his left-handed production and low K rate, Verhage might even be a better asset behind the dish. He’s an excellent athlete from the crouch and he was constantly saving runs and threatening potential base-stealers with his quick, strong arm. He had a perfect fielding percentage as a junior and a near-perfect one as a senior to help drive home this point at the most important defensive position in high school baseball.

FIRST BASEMAN

Max Kretovics 1B / OF / New Richmond, WI / 2025

AVG H 2B 3B HR RBI OPS SB
.456 41 8 1 2 21 1.148 21

New Richmond was one of the most fun storylines of the spring, as their Class of 2025 helped put together one of the most competitive seasons the program has seen in some time. Although they finished short of where they wanted to be, Kretovics and his fellow senior teammates have a lot to be proud of. As for Kretovics specifically, he earned the Big Rivers Conference Player of the Year award this spring and he’s been an All-BRC player in each of his four years on varsity. As a senior, he hit nearly .500 with 11 extra-base hits, 21 RBIs, and he scored 30 runs, and he stole 21 bases, too. Kretovics’ smooth left-handed swing is headed to Bethel (MN) this fall.

INFIELDERS

Winston Alonso 3B / SS / Reedsburg Area, WI / 2026

AVG OBP SLG 2B 3B HR RBI BB:K
.414 .538 .686 5 1 4 18 15:3

Alonso was able to provide a reliable lead-off presence for Reedsburg during his junior year season. The left-handed bat set the tone at the top of the lineup, reaching base in over half of his plate appearances while also flashing the power with four bombs. Not only showing it with the bat, but also with the glove. Spending his time at short, Alonso showed range to both sides as a reliable presence up the middle. He’s developed a reputation as one of the best left-handed bats in the state – and he’s still uncommitted.

Decker Kleppin 3B / RHP / Random Lake, WI / 2027

AVG 2B 3B HR RBI R OPS SB
.474 15 1 1 22 38 1.309 26

Helping lead Random Lake to a WIAA D3 State Tournament appearance, Kleppin was a threat both with the bat and on the bases. The right-handed hitter would lead his team in multiple categories, including batting average with his .474 average and on-base percentage with a .560 clip. His ability to get on base wasn’t his only weapon as he swiped a team-leading 26 bases, able to create opportunities to drive in runs for the rest of the lineup. Kleppin’s 15 doubles this spring tied a Random Lake record, and it helped earn him spots on the first team, all-conference and first team, all-district lists, as well as this one.

Gavin Tarras 3B / New Richmond, WI / 2025

AVG H 2B HR RBI OPS
.457 38 10 1 27 1.160

In his final season before departing to continue his baseball career at Century JC, Tarras put together a strong senior campaign as part of the Tigers’ memorable season. He became a solidified run-producer at the top of the lineup, as the right-handed bat plated 27 runs, all while doing so with an 1.160 OPS.

Cooper Sievert SS / Wisconsin Lutheran, WI / 2027

AVG 2B HR RBI BB:K OPS SB
.397 5 3 22 17:9 1.173 19

One of the more impressive seasons to come out of the sophomore class, Sievert showed why he belongs near the of the ‘27 rankings. Sievert brings with him to the right-handed batter’s box a mature approach, evidenced by a BB:K rate of 17:9, and all the while he’s a calm and rock-solid shortstop that adds to his on-field impact, another key reason as to why he’s on our Third Team list. WISCO has one of the best and brightest cores in the WIAA, and this ‘27 class got some great experience in this 17-win season that should benefit them in 2026 and beyond. Sievert can be the piece that ties it all together.

OUTFIELDERS

Ira Hilbelink OF / RHP / Cedar Grove-Belgium, WI / 2027

AVG 2B 3B HR RBI OPS SB
.434 5 4 1 17 1.167 12

Wisconsin’s ‘27 class is about to get a lot more popular as their recruiting window finally opens in August, following the Prep Baseball Future Games, where Hilbelink will be representing the state. He’s one of the top-ranked sophomores in Wisconsin and maybe it’s top overall two-way talent. For the Rockets, he slashed .434/.522/.645 in 2025 with 10 extra-base hits and more walks than Ks (10:7). He managed this level of offensive production while patrolling center field when he wasn’t the team’s ace on the mound. On top of the position player stats, he also pitched 54.1 innings and K’d 85 batters, finishing with a 1.42 ERA.

Joseph Meeter OF / Holmen, WI / 2026

AVG 2B 3B HR RBI R OPS SB
.413 6 4 3 15 38 1.322 30

Internally, we felt like Meeter had the chance to be one of the breakout players of the ‘26 class this past spring as part of a Holmen team we liked a lot in the preseason. Meeter more than met expectations. Ultimately, he hit over .400 and added 14 extra-base hits, 20 RBIs, 33 runs, and 12 steals. He’s an athletic 6-foot-1 right-handed hitter with bat speed and big power potential, and the swing really projects to generate runs at the next level, same as it did in 2025 for the Vikings.

Luke Hartz OF / Johnson Creek, WI / 2026

AVG 2B 3B RBI R BB:K OPS SB
.490 10 5 19 56 19:8 1.274 32

Hartz is the second Johnson Creek player (Zach Holland, Second Team) to have earned a place on any of our all-state lists this spring – and there’s a case to be made that he was the most valuable player in D4 this spring. He was his conference’s POTY, and he broke Johnson Creek’s single-season records in runs scored (56) and steals (32), too, which he accomplished in just 30 games total. At the D4 state tourney, he led the Bluejays to their second-ever state baseball championship by going 3-for-3 in the title game, scoring three times. His 1.274 OPS and center field defense made it necessary to find him a place on our Third Team, All-State list.

Gabriel Ciralsky OF / University School of Milwaukee, WI / 2025

AVG 2B 3B HR R OPS SB
.427 6 4 3 38 1.322 30

In his final high school season, Ciralsky lands on this Third Team list after a terrific four years at the University School of Milwaukee. One of the coolest stats we saw submitted to us from a coach belongs to Ciralsky, who finished with a perfect fielding percentage in his career after four varsity seasons. He also collected over 100 hits and he owns the USM all-time stolen bases and runs scored records. In 2025, he swiped 30 bags and tallied 13 extra-base hits, including three homers.

PITCHERS

Cail Geiger RHP / Menomonee Falls, WI / 2026

IP W-L K ERA WHIP
54.2 6-2 74 1.15 1.02

Geiger is among the most competitive and accomplished uncommitted right-handers in the state’s now incoming senior class. As a junior with Menomonee Falls, he was one of the top arms in one of the state’s toughest conferences, the Greater Metro, and that profile alone is what propelled him to become an all-state member for us in 2025. The righty was near unhittable, pitching to a 1.15 ERA through 54.2 innings, and striking out 74 along the way. He’s headed to Georgia at the end of the month to represent our state at the Senior Future Games as a member of Team Heartland.

Ryan Brennecke LHP / Oconomowoc, WI / 2025

IP W-L K ERA WHIP
.472 5-2 48 0.94 1.23

Brennecke is the top-ranked southpaw in the state and for that, he earned some genuine pro interest this spring. Whether pro ball calls or he winds up at Wake Forest officially this fall, the Oconomowoc lefty K’d 48 batters in 37.1 innings and had an ERA under 1.00 all while competing inside the toughest conference in the state – and the Raccoons also had an impressive non-conference slate as well. Brennecke allowed just five earned runs all spring despite it all, and he is one of the first arms in Wisconsin you’d choose in a winner-take-all ballgame.

Bron Schaefer LHP / Kaukauna, WI / 2026

IP W-L K ERA WHIP
45.2 4-2 79 1.07 0.77

Schaefer’s season has some similarities to first-teamer Cal Schneider’s, who wrapped up one of the most impressive springs we’ve seen from a sophomore pitcher in recent memory. Schaefer carries with him that same kind of on-the-attack mentality when he takes the mound, pumping strikes from a tough left-handed slot that stifles his opposition without elite velocity. The App State recruit was a shutdown arm as a junior, recording a 1.07 ERA and a 0.77 WHIP in 45.2 innings with 79 Ks. He’s an early favorite to find his way back on this list in 2026, though maybe in Second or Third team form.

Mason Schmidt RHP / Somerset, WI / 2026

IP K ERA WHIP
67 124 1.88 0.94

Schmidt is another Class of ‘26 prospect who’s made this all-state squad. With a solid four-pitch mix, Schmidt was able to keep hitters guessing and collect whiffs with ease as he collected 124 strikeouts on the season. Throwing in 67 innings with a 1.88 ERA, Schmidt had complete dominance on the mound as one of the top-ranked incoming seniors in Wisconsin, and he remains uncommitted at this time.

Kody Hage RHP / Union Grove, WI / 2025

IP W-L K ERA WHIP
64 10-1 75 0.66 0.77

Hage’s only loss came in the first week of conference action, and after that he was a lockdown arm for the Broncos, finishing 10-1 overall. Beyond that, Hage’s numbers make it clear how tough a time opposing lineup had in generating offense with him on the bump – and his head coach called it one of the most dominant seasons from a Union Grove pitcher in program history. Hage finished with a 0.66 ERA, allowing only six earned runs across 64 innings, while striking out 75 with a minuscule WHIP of 0.77. Furthermore, the UW-Whitewater recruit tossed a complete game in seven of his 10 starts in 2025.

UTILITY

Devin Nedland OF / LHP / Westby, WI / 2025

AVG 2B 3B RBI SB IP K ERA WHIP
.426 11 2 26 16 65 112 0.11 0.54

Wrapping up his fourth year on varsity, Nedland was completely dominant on both sides of the field this year for D3 Westby. On the mound, Nedland K’d 112 batters in 65 innings and allowed just one earned run all spring, leading to a 0.11 ERA and a 0.54 WHIP. With the bat, the UW-Eau Claire commit was a consistent producer, driving in 26 runs, with 11 doubles, while batting .426 with 16 steals and a perfect fielding percentage as an outfielder.

Ethan Hibicke RHP / 1B / Sussex Hamilton, WI / 2025

AVG RBI BB IP K ERA WHIP
.372 21 18 66 74 1.17 1.02

Hibicke finished his senior spring as one of the most decorated individuals of the 2025 season. In total, the two-way senior was named WBCA Metro District Player of the Year and Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year, and he was named to the first team all-GMC and second team for WBCA’s all-state, among many other honors. Hibicke impressed from the mound especially, finishing with a 1.17 ERA through 66 innings, striking out 74, taking the ball in the team’s most important matchups of the season, earning the official win in the Chargers’ regional final, sectional semifinal, and state quarterfinal. Offensively, Hibicke hit .372 with 21 RBIs and he reached base in nearly half his plate appearances (.486). He was the engine that motored Hamilton from being unranked in the preseason to state semifinalists.

Brayden Steinbecker SS / RHP / Manitowoc Lincoln, WI / 2025

AVG 2B 3B OPS IP ERA K ERA WHIP
.333 4 3 1.067 44.2 0.63 51 0.63 1.03

Steinbecker was one of the state’s best two-way seniors in 2025, finishing with an OPS over 1.000 and an ERA of 0.63 while competing at the Division 1 level for Manitowoc Lincoln. The St. Cloud State recruit was his conference’s POTY for these reasons. Lincoln won 20 games in 2025 and Steinbecker was certainly at the center of the action, hitting .333 with seven extra-base hits, including the game-winning two-run triple that gave the Shipbuilders the regional title over Appleton East. Steinbecker was even more imposing on the mound, where he pitched 44.2 innings and allowed just four earned runs in 44.2 innings, with 51 Ks, and a WHIP near 1.00 even.
